This dish was worth mentioning and a post by itself!

The coffee shop has been there for a year now and yet I never been there till this week. Brought my cousin for breakfast on Monday and everyone agreed the noodle was great and so were the fish fillets.

I loved the soup very much that we came back for 2nd time on Saturday morning. This roind, hubby ordered its mix pork soup to try too.

Noodle has its elasticity; neither too soft nor too hard. The fish fillets were super tasty and fresh. We loved the soup very much.

In Kuching, you either have Sarawak kolok mee or Sarawak laksa for breakfast. The tip is to find the right taste that fits you.

Glad to be back to my own territory where people speaks Hakka dialect! lol.

In case you are wondering the location of this shop, it is in Batu Kawa MJC and the shop is facing the still under-constructed Papillion. What so unique about this Papillion? Heard it has a ramp in the centre of mall and you can drive your car into it but that for us to see once it is open.

After our breakfast, we went to Rubber road to buy some sio pau and yam puff to be given away to hubby's relatives. Having them for breakfast.

Day 1

After my cousin and family arrived from Singapore, we brought them to Song Kheng Hai hall for late lunch. Almost all stalls closed by the time we reached there (almost 4pm). Ended up we went to this stall for kolok mee and tomato kueh tiaw.

Day 2

We had our dinner in Imperial Duck restaurant, Jln Padungan. Loved the duck and roasted meat there! We had the herbal jelly and herbal black chicken soup as well there.

Day 4

My cousin stayed till Wednesday. So before sending her and family off at airport, we went to New Chong Choon cafe, Green Heights for laksa breakfast. One of the best in town. And its 3-layers teh-C Peng was good too. Not too sweet yet it was tasty.

Day 5

One of our favourite kolok mee is Noodle Expert in Kenyalang. But since the owner lets the staff cook, it lacks of taste that we used to love. We were there for its noodle and we were rather disappointed. The noodle was hard and tasted bland.

The same goes with soup. It still tasted delicious but lack of ingredients. Last time we will be able to see some blood cubes, fish slices and liver slices but now only bacons and minced meatballs with some prawns and others.

Maybe the owner should give the staff more time to learn and master the skill and food quality. Or maybe the day we were there, the owner was busy and passed to the staff on that day only.

Day 6

At night we went to the nearby coffee shop, Big One Food Court for late dinner. Loved the red kolok mee here! RM3 per bowl now. The stall is called 88.

And we tapau-ed this RM5 char kuaw from one of the stalls there. A bit salty. Overly seasoned with salt and they were pretty generous with preserved radish.

That was what we have been doing for the past few days in Kuching. Celebrating! First my brother's wedding and then my youngest child's birthday.

Yesterday was Jamie's 1st birthday and we invited my family for a Japanese buffet in Cafe Majestic, Riverside Hotel & Suites the night before.

Hubby and I been there few times during our "pak toh" times and the last time we were there was on my birthday back in 2006! It has been ages since we stepped into this premises. Much has changed including the interior decoration as well as the menu. Used to have unagi back then but no more. Nevertheless we still enjoyed its buffet variety.

Back home yesterday, we have a simple celebration at home for Jamie.  Remember that the sister picked a pen while the brother picked toy when they turned 1. So no exception for Jamie as we played the same picking game for him on his first birthday.

Newlyweds in the family

Congratulations to my younger brother on his wedding day! 0909, a date to be remembered. A wonderful morning tea ceremony. But before I go on with the ceremony, let me share few of my brother's studio shot that were taken in Taiwan. So many to choose from but I particularly love these 3.

Hubby was the driver of the day. So kids and I were at my parents' house early in the morning to help out.

The groom like any other grooms was nerveous as he was figgeting with his suit but once the bride arrived at our parents' house for the tea ceremony, he started to relax a bit! Mum and dad were glowing with smiles. Why not? ^^ They just become a new in-laws.

My cousin and family from Singapore are staying at my house. So currently, it is a full house. Imagine 4 rowdy children under one roof. But it is fun having my cousin and her hubby visiting us and it is even more memorable to have their 2-year old boy staying with us.

Ok, enough posting over here. Need to rest now. We will be busy again at the dinner reception tonight. Want to catch on what I am going to wear tonight? A peek at my new cyan-coloured dress (I know, it does not look like cyan as hard to catch the colour on camera) and a new black handbag! Dress is from Zalora while handbag is a birthday gift from my sis. Simple and feminine! Do not want to outshine the blushing bride tonight. *wink*
