Christmas shopping

It is that time of the year again. Christmas shopping. No matter what, we must spend some times at the mall, checking out the Christmas vibes and offers. One of our favourite places to go to is this shopping mall.

It was our off day early this week, so we took the opportunity to walk around and relax with the kids.

We spent almost 2 hours at the mall, shopping for clothing. Everyone including my mil got what we wanted. Quite a crowd at the mall so we did not dilly dally around. After bought some clothing at 2 outlets, and some Christmas presents for my nieces and nephew, we adjourned to the food court for lunch. 

My usual when ever I visit this food court. Nasi Arab stall. Went for its mixed biryani nasi Arab with lamb shank curry (RM36). Super filling as I couldn't finish the lamb leg by myself. 

We didn't really checked out the main concourse Christmas decoration as more crowds coming in. And with Covid cases going up in recent weeks, we decided to make a move. There was a Wonka themed setting in one area. 

These were the photos I managed to take. At least we got to see some Christmas tree. Lol.

We made stops in few malls in Kuala Lumpur during our stays. Window shopping, CNY clothing shopping and checking out on the Christmas decoration. This post is a compilation of the Christmas decoration in the mall. The Christmas vibes were nicer and more festive with bigger scale of decoration and efforts put. 

And since tomorrow is Christmas Day , I would like to wish everyone "A Merry Christmas!" And hope you enjoy my Christmas photo compilation.

Time of the year (again)

It is time to check out the Christmas decoration in this well known shopping mall in Kuching. 

Last Sunday, I brought the kids to the mall before went to my parents' house for a visit. I prefer the opening hours to avoid crowds so we reached the mall slightly after 10am. We spent less than 30 minutes walking, admiring and taking photos of ourselves and the Christmas decoration before proceed to my parents' house. Hubby flew to KL the day earlier so he will be enjoying the Christmas magic at the mall there!! Lol.

Crowds started to come in as we were leaving. As we stayed briefly, no parking fee was charged. 

Christmas

On Christmas day, we went to this well known shopping mall for a look of its Christmas decoration. 

This year, we were rather late in visiting the mall but what better day to visit and enjoy the decoration than on the day itself??

A big and bright, striking flower-themed Christmas tree placed in the front of the mall entrance was the main attraction.

More flowers in the mall, but not much photos taken as packed with crowds. So we did took few shots and walked away.

Our Christmas 2021 was fun and lively as we spent a couple of hours at my parents' house in the morning. My sis, sis' hubby were there, so together with my bro and his family, it was a big and eventful gathering. Coincidentally, my parents' wedding anniversary fell on 24 December, so a nice catching up and gathering for everyone. We also got to look through an album of old photos of them (from dating time to married and to having kids) and other uncles and aunties. Dad and mum were reminiscing on those wonderful and sweet memories.

Then we went to the mall, spent slightly more than a hour for lunch and Christmas photos before we went to pick up my MIL who arrived from Kapit with my hubby's bro and family. They drove all the way. My MIL will stay with us while she is in Kuching.

As we were about to leave my BIL's house, a neighbour spotted and invited us to his house. Our old neighbours, who happened to be from Kapit as well. So we spent some time there before headed home.

Sunday therapy

Hubby and I went for a Sunday date not long ago. It felt so good to go out together, spend a little time and enjoy each other's company, without the kids. Okay, no worry, the kids were alright with us going out, they rather stayed at home. And as long as we bought something back for them, they were fine. 

It was in May 2021 that we visited The Spring mall so 5 months later, both of us came back for our shopping therapy. We like shopping at this mall; the ambience and outlets are fantastic.

There was a simple Halloween decoration in the mall. 

We made a short stop to check out the decoration. 

Bats on tree branches, pumpkins, witch's cat and ghost were parts of the set-up.

Our next stop was the Japanese brand, Uniqlo. There was something for everyone. As there was promotion in the store, we spent quite some time there. 

Next we moved to Parkson to get hubby's personal wears. After done with our shopping, it was almost lunch time, and we were rather hungry since we took our breakfast around 7am.

So we had this Nasi Arab at the food court that we enjoyed in our previous visit. This time both of us went for the lamb shank.

After we were done and bought takeaway from Sugarbun for the kids, we headed back home. It didn't take long, less than 2 hours in the mall. 

Arab rice

On the first Sunday of the month, hubby and I went to The Spring mall to buy some personal stuff.

Hari Raya decoration on the concourse with the theme of batik imprint.  Unique idea to cover the vehicles with fabrics to create that batik images. 

This giant batik jungle was nice too but I felt it did not have that Raya vibes. 

After spent some time shopping in Parkson, we went to The Food Bazaar for an early lunch. 

The food court was rather empty and quiet. It used to enjoy brisk business but maybe because of Ramadhan, not many customers around during the weekends. Of course hubby and I would not mind as Covid-19 cases are still around.

Hubby wanted to eat the Nasi Arab from this stall. We had it during our last visit last December and enjoyed it very much. 

So, I also followed him, decided to try this chicken akbari with Arab rice (RM13.80).

A chicken thigh in a nice sweet and mild spicy and served with shredded cabbage and chickpeas, this Arab rice was delicious and filling. 

Hubby had his cheat meal as he indulged in this Special Nasi Arab remix set (RM18). Mixture of yellow rice and Arabic rice with lots of chickpeas, braised beef and lambs plus shredded cabbage. Definitely a very heavy and sinful lunch but he loved it. 

We drowned our food with refreshing coconut juice (RM5.30). Both of us were very full from having the rice and juice!

Last Sunday

Last Sunday, while we walked passed our residence clubhouse. A minimal CNY decoration was spotted at the hall. 

Cute cows sticker and a pot of cherry blossom in front of a dark backdrop. Of course, yours truly could not resist not to snap a shot or two. Nothing extravagant but it was nice gesture of the management office to put something up to lift up the festive mood.

 

In mid-morning, we went out to pay a visit at my father-in-law's grave. The rain came pouring pretty heavy in the morning but luckily it stopped when we reached the cemetery in Siburan.

Along the way, we stopped by at 688 in Jalan Tun Jugah to buy some flowers and candles. 

We spent few minutes at the cemetery before we drove back. Along the way home, the traffic was pretty heavy. Maybe because it was the weekend before CNY, so many cars were on the road. 

While in the car, I ordered our lunch. Food from Sugarbun! Of course, the kids were the most excited bunch to know that their lumch was from Sugarbun. 

The rest of the day, we stayed and relaxed at home.
