Noodle House

It was late Saturday evening where Jan went to a friend's house for Hari Raya Open House lunch. After that together with her friends, they walked to Waterfront and Plaza Merdeka for sightseeing and fun.

We picked her up from the mall around 6pm and then went to this Chinese restaurant for dinner. Hong Kong Noodle House in Padungan.

Used to enjoy its roasted duck rice so I took the opportunity to order the same dish. Tasted almost the same, but the rice was rather wet to my liking.

Jan had the Yangzhou fried rice. She took half of it as she had some snack in the mall earlier. The remaining, we brought home.

My man wasn't that well that evening so he ordered Teochew porridge set. It used to be nicer and grander with more condiment. Now only 3 condiments for a big bowl of white porridge.

The man treated us lady to shark fin soup. Long time didn't have this but ours were tad salty.

The sambal vegetables and salted egg yolk eggplants were additional order from the kitchen to go with our food.

For the boys, we packed pork chop rice for them. After we were done, we drove home and call it a night.

Delicious food, Rose. I love esp. the roasted duck.

Sounds like a good meal! I would like the duck rice. nowadays many places replace the fins with glass noodles to be more shark friendly. The pork chop rice sounds tasty 😋

i would once in a while go for porridge and something mild when having no appetite, especially in hot weather these days.
