Simple enough

I were here last week when I brought my youngest to clinic for his skin problem. After done at the clinic, I went to 2 shops away to buy my brunch. Simply Fish in 3rd Mile.

As name stated, they use fresh fish fillets for their noodle soup. But I wasn't came for its noodle soup. I came for nasi lemak. Heard from hubby that the nasi lemak was good so I thought I gave it a try.

I bought the normal nasi lemak for RM4. For RM4, it was good enough. It has peanuts, crispy anchovies, salted fish, sambal, fried egg and cucumber.

The sambal was good, like what hubby said. Very spicy. Made me had runny nose after finished up the whole pack!

But I didn't like my fried egg. I prefer hard boiled egg. If it is a fried egg, I don't like it done like this. I want my yolk runny and soft.

The rice was lemak enough. Mildly fragrant. But what happened to my salted fish?? Where the tail goes?? Lol.

And one Saturday when we happened to be in the vicinity, I went to tapau rice from their economy rice. More than 10 trays to choose from (non-halal), the dishes looked good and tasty.

Saw they had kacangma so I tapaued some for lunch. Not bad. I wouldn't mind coming back for its economy rice. Reasonably priced and you get to take your own dishes.

Yes, the egg was overcooked or they accidentally broke the yolk and went on frying anyway. Wahhhhh!!!! So spicy? I would love that...very much! Sigh!!! Wish we could get kacang ma so easily here. :(

Sounds very tasty the nasi lemak. I always find it very inconvenient when my nose gets runny at the restaurant.

I like spicy sambal. Agree with you on the egg. I don't like it done that way too. Prefer the runny ones.

I've started to bring my own containers when eating out now in case we want to bring leftovers home. I'm ashamed of the amount of plastic used to pack what we want to take away.

That is the magic of nasi lemak, simple enough yet can satisfy our craving.

I love nasi lemak.

Rose ..I finally got kacangma but I'm in a blur how to cook it ..HAHAHA! So it's still sitting there. Do I need to rinse before use and is there a limit on the amount I should use?

Hi Sharon. Usually I dont wash and rinse. It is prefer to have dry herb to cook. Otherwise you need to dry under sun before you can use and cook it. No need so much. Depends on your chicken portion. Few tablespoon of the herbs are good.
