A 2 weeks blogger

I have been blogging for 2 weeks now! Wow! It has been fun posting and sharing my daily encounter and life (mis)adventures with dear bloggers and friends out there! I never realize I have written so many posts within such short duration! *wink* I got to control my writing enthusiasm! Hahaha!

When I first started, I want to document my life as a working mother. I hope through this blog, I would learn more about being a working mother, and share with others what I love to do and talk about, i.e. parenting, eating, shopping and lots more!

There is still space for improvement, and I shall try my best to make my blog more appealing to everyone. If there is any issue that you would not be interested to see on my blog, please let me know! Your comments and suggestions are most welcome! Thank you for dropping by and please come again! And not forgetting, thank you too for your precious comments!

Cheers!

Olive - A good fruit

My father-in-law brought some black olive during his last visit to Kuching. When I took photograph of the fruit, you can see it started to oxidize and skin turn crinkly (like your skin when soaked in water for too long). To eat them, we would boil them in salted water. Either you eat them like that or you can serve some sauce with them. Usually the sauce would be a simple one, i.e. soy sauce mixed with sugar (if you use sweet soy sauce, you can omit or add very little of sugar). I don’t like to eat my olive that way, I only love to add them in my pasta or salad.

Olive is a beneficial fruit, as it contains free fatty acid (FFA), which is not found in animal fat. FFA is easily absorbed by our body. Due to its benefits, olive oil has been extracted and classified into different categories based on its processes. You can find virgin olive oil and extra virgin olive oil in the market. It is regarded as the healthiest oil with 0% cholesterol, rich in Vitamins against aging and perfect for frying dishes. It is full of nice aroma and flavour, so nice to add in salad and everyday cooking.

Olive oil is good for us in maintaining our health. So I have been consuming olive groove butter and olive oil. LOL! Substitute to olive oil today!

In the Mood for Christmas

Lunch in Office & Thai Dinner

Look what I had for lunch yesterday! I were lazy to go out as the sun was mercilessly hot. I decided to have light lunch in my office instead. Some slices of oat rolled bread bun (bought from Wecare Bakery) with olive butter spread, Vono mushroom soup and a few mini mandarin orange. Healthy meal? At least it kept me full till evening. Hahaha!

The Vono soup could use more chunky mushroom cubes and parmesan cheese powder. I bought it actually because of its wooden spoon! Nice soup spoon. *wink* Taste wise it is enough to fulfil your desire for hot soup during cold day, but for more texture, I could cook some button mushroom cubes at home and bring it together with some parmesan cheese powder to the office to put into my soup when I feel like having it again.

Bear in mind that I seldom have “Western-style lunch” as I am a rice lover! I need to have rice for my lunch! However yesterday was an exception, maybe because of the weather that discourages me from going out to venture on some nice rice dish.

Anyway, I was pretty hungry when reach home last night around 7pm after went shopping with little gal, and thanks my lucky star, darling hubby treated me to Thai dinner. We gone to Pandan Thai Delight again. We ordered Ulam, Pandan Chicken and Sweet Beef.

I like the Pandan Chicken very much, it was juicy with some peppery taste. Served with sweet soy sauce. Sorry, we were too hungry that only when left one piece, did I remember to take photo of it! :p
The Sweet Beef is indeed pretty sweet for my taste bud, I dont quite like its sweetness. I prefer my beef to be cooked either with pepper or spicy herbs.
Overall the dinner is satisfying if not for little gal been very disobedient, messing up the table and throwing food around. Sigh! She is getting naughty, and we going to have hard time teaching her some table manner.

Kid's Activities

My little gal used to love to pose for photography. When she was a little baby, she would smile and pose when camera is pointed to her! Now it takes much effort to get her attention for poses as she gets distracted easily and cannot stand still for one second!

I was trying to get her to stand still last weekend, and again as rebellious as she has been, gave me this pose instead. It is very “unlady-like” I have to admit, but what the heck! I just took the shots anyway.

She is in her 20-months old, pretty active and bubbly. I spent most of my Sunday with her, teaching her to read and colour. Most of her vocabularies are in English and Chinese, once a while mixed with Hokkien and her own “language”. When I said one word in English, she will say it again in Chinese and vice versa. Luckily she has not yet confused herself with both languages! She has few favourite books to choose of, and usually took her quite a while to accustom to a new book. With new book, she will just flip fast and once reach the last page, she will just close the cover and say “No More”! With her old books, she will take her time, look around the photographs and point and tell you what they are………expecting you to clap and cheer for her! ~LOL

Little gal with her favourite doll, a grey bear she fondly call "bear bear".

A friend of mine gave me this Crayola Colouring Book, she said she couldn’t find it in any of Malaysia’s bookstores. She bought this book with colouring pens in Singapore as a gift for my little gal. The special about the book and pens is that its colours will only appear on the book itself when you use the pens. It is great as it would not stain your house or other stuff in the house! No mess for mothers to clean after! ~smile~ Wonder it is really not sold in Malaysia? Because some of the pens are out of colours and still few more pages to colour! Hahaha! Most of the time, it was the mum that doing the colouring because of curiosity and fun! I didn’t have such privilege when I was small. How lucky are our children these days! So many games, arts, colouring materials and toys to choose and play from!

A Perfect Christmas Present

What would you like to give or receive on this coming Christmas holiday? Are you a “giftor” or “receiver”? Or both?

My family is Christian, and we celebrate Christmas by going to the church for Christmas Mass at 8.00am. Although present exchange is not a must in my family, we do buy presents for each other. Last year, I got a Estee Lauder perfume from my hubby. I bought him a nice Bonia wallet as his present. He loves to buy perfume for me. Every time he went traveling, he definitely get me a perfume bottle! Now my dressing table is full of them and I cant even finish one bottle….I guess he know that I love to keep perfume bottle, but once a while I would love some varieties? *Wink*

I hinted to my hubby few days ago that I want to get a new watch as my old watches either spoiled or no batteries! I told him it is high time to get a new one for myself. Guess what!!

We went shopping yesterday, and see what we bought for our self! A pair of Seiko watches! One for me and one for darling hubby. Isnt it the best Christmas present one could ask for? Thanks darling, you are the best! And little gal also got new clothing for the coming Christmas too! Now need to get new shoes for her!

Cool chic!

Dont you think my little gal look cool in the sunglass! Hahaha!
