Recovering

It was a hectic week this week. A chao. Some of you may noticed that I have been absent and quiet as I did not blog hopping and left comments in your blogs.

It started on Tuesday evening when I flew with my 2 older kids to Kuching. Supposed to get people to come in and do some rectification works in my Kuching house but our time was cut short. Meant to come back to Sibu this evening but something happened and we needed to be back on Wednesday evening.

Hubby had a self accident on early Wednesday morning. He ran into a tree around 3am after drinking session. Fortunately there was a police patrol car passed by that time and called ambulance. Hubby was unconscious that time. Car was in a serious condition as front part was a total wreck but luckily hubby survived the accident with just bruises and 2nd grade liver bleeding. It is fortunate that he wore seat belt. The steering wheel was bent from the impact and it hit hubby's liver and lower right rib. He was admitted and under observation in surgical ward for a day and after a day rest and scans, he was transferred to normal ward the next day. He was lucky to survive it and no need to go through any surgery. Thank god for everything.

We did not know his accident until 7am in the morning. Actually I received 3 missed calls around 330am in the morning but I did not heard my phone rang. Maybe I were too exhausted from cleaning and mopping my house the night before. And only when my BIL called me in the morning, did I knew hubby was hospitalised.

I took care of him at nights, bringing food when he was allowed to eat solid. I did not sleep well on 1st as either the nurses or doctors did their rounds or the noises or ceiling fans woke you up. Glad that we moved to own ward on 2nd night so hubby and I had a better rest. *wink* He has not yet discharged at the moment because he still have tender liver. Probably on Monday. Doctor will only discharge him when he is total pain-free.

As for his car, he almost finished servicing the loan. Actually sometime this year. Now just have to claim from insurance for the damage and it may takes many months to restore the car. Other than his car, he also lost his wallet and one handphone. Luckily I had blocked all his cards and handphone number. Just yesterday hubby received a notification that one of his card has been used in petrol station; luckily it has been blocked.

Hubby was advised not to go back to work as doctor gave him another week rest to recover. Told him to take it light and easy as liver takes time to heal itself. For now, I would be my family's driver till hubby is well and able to drive on his own. 

Thank god for the close shave. Really grateful that he was alright and only came out with bruise, bruised lung and liver. What a week it has been.

The gardens and farms of Cameron

We started our CH adventure on the 2nd day. The weather was gloomy and heavy downpour in the afternoon. However the morning started warm and after our breakfast in the hotel we walked to the taxi station which was just few minutes walk.

We hired a taxi driver to bring us sight-seeing. Standard rate at RM15 per hour. We spent 4 hours for our sight-seeing, which I think was good enough for the kids. Except the honey bee farm, we have ventured into all the famous of the highlands.

First stop was the tea farm. We visited the BOH factory and tea shop. And we get to walk down and have a close look at the tea trees.

Next was the Lavender Garden. The beautiful bed of colourful flowers really mesmerizing. We did not managed to pick any strawberries as it was closed that day, but we did  bought a pack to taste for RM10.

Then, we went to Rose Valley. It rained by then but luckily the huge garden was covered so it did not stopped us and other visitors from walking and admiring the roses and other flowers.

Last stop was the butterfly farm. Unfortunately we did not get to see many butterflies flying around as the weather was chilling. Most just hang high in the greenhouse. However some were seen hanging on flowers so not a total disappointment for my kids.

Up the highland

The 2nd part of our holiday was to go to Cameron Highland. After all the funs in KL, now it was time for some relaxation and learning. 

This was my first visit to Cameron Highland. We took taxi from our hotel to CH at 10am at fee of RM350.00. Thankfully it was not that jam along the way but both kids had a car sick moment and we had to stop for a short while for some fresh air before we proceed with our journey. Maybe they ate too much at the rest stop before we went up to the highland.

The Century Pines Resort

It rained when we reached our hotel, Century Pines Resort just after 2pm. A very nice resort and it is at a very strategic location as near to the taxi centre in Tanah Rata. And just walking distance to town and few food outlets and hawkers stalls.

A peek at our hotel room and view from the hotel balcony. No air-con in the room as we used the highlands' fresh cool air from outside. We slept with the balcony door opened. It was pretty cooling at night and plus with rain during the 2 afternoons while we were there, so the temperature was low.

And what I like the most? They have hair dryer with blowing head for curls. Yes!

I missed the cooling temperature of CH! Once back to Sibu, how I wish it was as cooling as in CH! Lol!

A blessed 10th Anniversary

As of this date, I signed the paper and become Mrs Ling 10 years ago!

Married for 10 years, it seemed so long, but yet I feel it was like yesterday when we held hands, put the rings on our fingers and said "I do".

Both of us used to be fit and slim, but we grown horizontal as years go by!  *wink*

After 10 years, we are blessed with 3 kids! What else can we asked for??  It has been a wonderful journey together and I just want to say that "I love you" to my loving hubby when he reads this post.  And thank you for everything.  You have been a great husband, lover, friend, companion, and father to us! To many  many years to come.

Under the sun @ Sunway Lagoon

On our 3rd day, we took LRT in Masjid Jamek to Kelana Jaya and from there, RapidKL bus to Sunway city for a day of fun in Sunway Lagoon. We let the kids experienced the public transportation. They enjoyed the train ride. Some more it was cheaper to use train and bus to go to Sunway than taxi.

It has been more than 15 years ago since I went to Sunway Lagoon. More activities and added attraction in there since then. And Sunway Lagoon goes cashless too.  Meaning you just need to top up a minimum RM50 to your waistband and you can use it to play or purchase anything in there.  They do not accept cash in there.  For those cash that you did not used up, you can claim refund once you are out from the lagoon.

We visited the Wildlife Park as well as the Amusement Park. I do not remember they have Wildlife Park in the past. 

The kids more interested in the water park though so we spent the longest time there.

Eat @ Mid-Valley

We went to Canton-i for some Chinese food when we were in Mid-Valley last Saturday. A Cantonese restaurant, with simple decor and setting. Bit I like the open kitchen concept.

We ordered french beans stir fried with black pepper minced meat. Yummy. French beans were not overcooked and surprisingly the black pepper did not overpowered this veggie dish.

My girl had this char siew rice. Tasted the char siew and I like it. Succulent and tasty with fats on the chuncky meats.

Hubby had its roasted duck noodle. Again I enjoyed the juicy roasted duck.

As for me, I shared this roasted pork belly noodle with my boy. They added some sweet sauce onto the meat. I do not mind the sauce but I would prefer to do without it.

In the evening, before we went back to our hotel, we stopped by TGI Fridays for a quick dinner at The Gardens. The kids shared this fish and fries.

Hubby and I shared this almond crusted chicken salad (RM28.90). A very hearty salad with generous amount of greens, crusted almonds, tangarines and berries.

The salad went well with my ultimate electric lemonade cocktail. A blend of vodka, Blue Curacao and lemon-lime soda. A kick!
