A long holiday....

It is going to be a long holiday, starting tomorrow.

Gawai celebration is on 1 and 2 June, so it is a whole stretch of Public Holidays till next Tuesday.

We are living in a country of multi-racial community; rich in cultures, languages and heritages.  So it is no wonder to have a blend of ethnic handicrafts and arts hanging around one's house.

For instance, I have 2 small ajat at home.  A traditional woven ajat basket from rattan and a miniature bead ajat; both are souvenirs made by my MIL's ex-colleague to my girl when she was holidaying in Kapit few years ago.

Now both are been kept as decoration in my book shelves.  Good to preserve the cultures of other races as well.

I am going to visit my ex-staff tomorrow for a Gawai Feast in her house.  No tuak or alcoholic drinks for me this year.  But cannot wait to dig myself into her fragrant rice dish and other local delicacies.

Wishing all my blogger friends and readers,

Selamat Hari Gawai!!!
Hari Keamatan!!!

Nice. Your small one is bigger than mine - mine's just the size of the hand.
