Here come the bull!!

Just got back from my office's year end party. No year end party for me! Just me and little gal at home, having some peace and quiet time at home, doing the things we like most! Lol! Not even nearing 12 midnight, but I could heard some fireworks outside. Today is the last day of 2008. In about 3 hours we are welcoming the new year of 2009! So, what would I or rather my family be expecting for the new year?

Little gal will be starting her schooling next week and how excited we are for her. I don’t know about her, but at least she knows that she is going to school soon. We collected her books and uniforms on Tuesday. Bought her new shoes and bigger bag for her stuff, so she can carry her snack box, books and stationery in it. Mummy and daddy sure proud of their little gal! *wink*

We will be expecting something new next year, but I would not spill the beans out yet! Shall update you guys as we go along 2009. Work wise, I hope to be confirmed by February as by then, it will be my 6th month with the company. Yes, I have been with the company for 4 months now and how time passes!! I started to enjoy my work regardless of the longer hour and demanding manager.

Bought a retirement plan early this month. I know, retirement seem like a long way for me, but it is planning for the future. Every month, I would be chipping out RM150 for the plan, and by the time I retire, I shall enjoy a fixed incomes for the next 15 years. I don’t save much nowadays, so this retirement plan is treated like a part of saving to me!!

CNY is less than a month to come and there is not much festive mood among us although everywhere you go, CNY songs and decorations have put up. We would be going back to Kapit for the CNY next year. I cannot take longer leave so shall be leaving for Kapit on 21 January and coming back to Kuching on 27 January. Know what I miss? MIL’s cooking! Hahahah! Especially her Foochow mee sua on the 1st day of CNY.

Nevertheless I shall leave my appetite when the time comes as it is less than 4 weeks before CNY. Till then, wishing everyone a Happy 2009!!!

TV in the room?

I have not been feeling well lately, always feeling dizzy and tired. I told hubby that I am becoming to be like an "old lady", sleeping pretty early every night. LOL! Hubby told me that he is getting a television in our room! Oh god! Our room is like junk room now and he is thinking of having one television in the room some more?? Now I am thinking whether I am going to have an early and peaceful sleep or not every night if there is a tv in the room!

We already have computer in the room. Now a television? I think it is a bit too much for our bedroom to have few electrical/electronic items, too many currents moving around. Too many things in the room I think sooner or later I cannot go across the room. LOL! He said he got good offer on television so he cannot wait to get it soon. You can say I am paranoid, but I always think it is not good “chi” to have too many “electricity” especially in bedroom where you suppose to relax and sleep.

I always oppose to hubby’s suggestion of putting his computer in the room. But since the computer installed in, I find some “companion” at night when hubby was not around and I can go online or watch DVD! *wink* So I cannot complain much about having computer in the room now right?

Do you think it is good idea to have tv in the room since we already have computer there?? Later the bedroom is going to turn into theatre room with one corner watching DVD on computer and other on television. Gosh! Cant imagine the noise in the room now!!

Prepare your kids for school

My 2 years old plus daughter is going to pre-school next year. Tomorrow I am going to accompany her to school to collect her school uniforms, exercise pants and books. I wonder what she would feel when going over there tomorrow? Schooling starts on 5 January. As parents, both of us are excited and yet anxious at the same time. It is a wonder whether it is her or us going to school instead. LOL!

It may not be easy but like every young kids, it is a new stepping stone for her to enter school years. They may be unfamiliar and even fear on 1st day at school. I remember vividly of my 1st day in kindergarden, I was confused and don’t know what was going on. So it is important as a parent, the responsibility to ease their feeling as well ensure their school days (especially the first few days) as smoothly as possible.

Sleep well
Your kid must have enough sleep to ensure she feels refreshed and rejuvenated. She will tend to be more attentive and ready for school. On the other hand, lack of vital sleep, will result in her feeling stressed, confused, irritable and restless. She will it hard to concentrate in class.

Eat healthy

A nutritious breakfast is a good start for your child’s day. Fill up the fridge will fresh and nutritious snacks such as milks or soy products, yogurt, fruits and cereals.

Ease her up
Tell her stories of school, how she going to meet and play with new friends and all nice activities she will learn. Prepare her for what to expect in school will not stress or confuse her when the time has come. For one month, I have trained her to carry her bag which contains books and colouring pencil and get her to bring to her baby sitter's house. And every time passes her new pre-school while on the way to baby sitter's house, she will point to her school. Hmm, good to know she recognised her school.

Understand and stay interested
After school, ask your kid what she has learn or done in school. Be interested in what they say or done. School is a new experience for young kid; and parents’ support is what they need

New toy

Finally I got a new handphone. A Christmas gift from hubby. I used few phone models ranging from Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, to Ben-Q and I still find Nokia is the most user-friendly brand. Or maybe I has been accustomed to Nokia phone for so many years that I just got used to their feature.

On the other hand, hubby is a Sony Ericsson loyal user. So it is never a wonder for him to get me a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone W302. I guess he is bored of me complaining on no camera phone and I love taking photographs. So now that I have one camera phone, he wouldn’t be worry about me asking for his handphone everytime I want to use his camera phone!!

I still in the process of familiarize with my new handphone. Trying to download songs and using its camera. What do you think of the pictures that I took with my new handphone?? Cant complain much, it is only 2 mega-pixel! Lol!!

Fruit Cake Deluxe

Bought a nice 1.5kg fruit cake from a customer for the Christmas. Look at the mixed dried fruit and nuts!! Yummy! It also mixed with good quality brandy, so it tastes really rich. Not only he bakes 6 cakes for us (me and other colleagues) he also include recipe for us to try. I am not going to post the recipe here as it is super long but anyone interested to know how to bake it, please email to me.

He shall be forgiven

Christmas is tomorrow and I guess most people is taking leave today. I am one of them. It was a relieve to be off on a mid-week, away from the stress of work. Not only the paper works that take much tolls, but some colleagues are sure nasty that they can spoil your mood too.

There is a colleague in my company, everyone called him “Giant”. Because he is big and tall, more than 6ft. He is towering among the colleagues.

It is not the height and size I would like to share today, but his attitude. He is one of the rudest man I have ever set my eyes upon. Always with sour face, he is rude to all the colleagues, especially the sales team. I am the newest among the sales team, so most of the times, I would be his “target”. A bit of mistake, he will point it out in such sarcastic remark, that will send your blood boiling. But nevertheless, I have to thank this giant too. If not him, I would not learn the mistake and be more careful next time.

Colleagues have been warning me about him and even complained to manager, but nothing change. They have get used to his sarcastic remarks and attitude. Why he cannot be more polite since we are under the same company and everyone is working together? Never reciprocate back when you smile or greet him. Each time I go to the washroom, I would need to pass his table. So I have to treat like he is invisible and walk faster passing his table. Now. Now. Wonder who is rude here?? *wink*

All I wish is that he could be nicer and friendly. He must have some hard time in life, that he behaving such way?? Either way, pray that he could be different!!

There is always a baddie in a company. Someone that make trouble for other, someone bully the other or someone that loves to backstab other colleagues. I guess we cant live without them, right??

Alright, better not gossiping about other behind his back. It is not a good deed in this time of the year. Everyone should forget and forgive. Let’s have a wonderful Christmas Day and Peace and Love to the World!! Merry Christmas to my family and all dearest friends!!

A time of giving

600am-----Woke up early today as today is my company's Activities Day. I participating in a treasure hunt, organized by my company. It is part of the Christmas activities that we have. The other part would be gift exchange on the Christmas Eve. Everyone supposed to arrive by 830am but due to rain, mostly were late but we still manage to start on time. There were 20 of us and we divided into 6 groups. The event kicked off at 9am after briefing by the organiser and each group is given clues to the next destination. So we were going around the city area along Main Bazaar to General Post Office searching for clues. Each team must took photographs of the clues and at the end of the event, show the photographs to the organiser. Team with most correct photographs declared winning team.

This is my first time participate in treasure hunt. In the past, I used to be the organizer and part of the team that set up questions and clues. So been in the other shoe (participant) is pretty different in the sense of finding answers to the questions. There were drizzle, thank god not heavy rain. It was rather cold walking with umbrella along the Golden Triangle searching for clues. 2 questions required us to buy the items back as proof. One is condom and the other one is 100Plus canned soft drink. When we back to the office, we were given task, i.e. wrapping present in most creative way! That is harder than walking and finding clues around the city.

1130am ....My team came second. Guess what we get? Our own wrapped present! LOL! The last team arrived actually declared champion as they got all the correct answers. After the treasure hunt we were treated to lunch. I guess everyone was damn hungry from the running, so we nearly finish the packed nasi lemak.

1230pm ----- Reached home after picking little gal. After settling her down and me taking bath, I was damn tired that I was knocked out cold. After my nap, I decided to wrap my presents that I bought on Monday. Yeah! Still not enough from wrapping presents in the office, you must be wondering!! To be exact, presents for hubby’s siblings. I have never been a good wrapper, so you see, the wrappings did not turn out good. Some more, with hubby’s help, the presents look funny. I bought myself a mug (tea mug as it comes with a strainer and lid) from a friend’s gift shop in Green Heights Mall. Always mean to get myself a new mug, to be used in the office. As for the presents, we shall put them under the Christmas trees on the Christmas Eve. Each present is attached with a card, so everyone would know which present goes to who!!

As for tomorrow, we would be going to MV Doulos to check out on some Christianity books. Hubby has never been to the ship so he is asking me to accompany him. You can say that he is a book collector. He can spend generously when it comes to books!! The last time MV Doulos was here, I visited it with my sis and a friend. Did not get anything then. Find out more about MV Doulos here .

950pm ----Yawn! Good night everyone! Tomorrow is another exciting day, granting no rain! It has been a wet week in Kuching and I can feel the cold and fever are coming. The weather is too cold till my bones are chilling!! Bbbrrrr!

Post-pregnancy problem??

I may have given birth more than 2 years ago, but I think I still have post-pregnancy problem that does not go away after delivery. One is my tummy. As I underwent Caesarian, I still haven’t much lose all the fat in my abdomen.

I gained around 17kg throughout my pregnancy and now I managed to maintain to my normal weight, pre-pregnancy state. However, I still have the flabby tummy that I find hard to get rid of.

Another symptom which sometimes irritates me is my skin. I still develop some peeling on my skin above my upper lip. The skin is too dry till it peels off and turns agitated. It has never happen before, and I only develop this problem while I was pregnant. However even then, the problem is not that serious. I apply many lotions and creams, but nothing cures it. It will get better for few days but then it comes back again. Sometimes the redness make it looks like my lipsticks go out of the line. I have consulted doctor, but what ever remedies he gives, they do not cure my skin problem. It is not allergy I am sure, but I wonder whether it has anything to do with my hormone. Do you have such problem too??

It was what we did over the weekend

Yeah, I am taking leave again. And you must be wondering how many leaves I have since I just started my new job in September? Hahaha! Total of 10 days! I will be taking 2 more this month.

Suppose to meet a customer today, but last minute he postponed it to tomorrow afternoon. So I did not do much in the morning, just driver to my family. Having breakfast with hubby and daughter, dropping both in the respective places, I visited my mum and have lunch, then come back to an empty house. But the sight of Christmas tree in the living room welcoming me home, it just feel great to think that Christmas is next week!

I have bought presents for hubby and sister-in-law, and going to hunt presents for my brother-in-law and little gal later in the evening. Plan to go to The Spring with little gal, then around 7pm, going to pick hubby up from the office and have dinner together! Yes, that is my schedule for the day.

As for the weekend, we did not do much. On Saturday again, I were the driver, driving hubby to office then pick him up before we heading to Taiwan Sio Ju for late lunch around 330pm. It is difficult to find nice food especially lunch after 2pm as most cafĂ© close in the afternoon before resume in the evening. Taiwan Sio Ju has always been our favourite eating place as the dishes are home-cooked. When come to food, we don’t fancy nice-looking food. We eat everything and mostly are home-cooked type!

It was 430pm when we reached home and three of us were tired like logs!! Little gal slept till 7something and we have no choice but to wake her up. Don't want her to sleep late later that night. After dinner at brother-in-law’s cafe, we hunt for Christmas tree to be put in our house.

You wouldn’t believe it! On Sunday both hubby and myself woke up around 930am! Or rather I woke up around 7am and little gal run into her aunty’s room next door and stay there. Not bothering about her, both myself and hubby doze off again and only woke up at 930am! I cannot remember when the last time I can enjoy and wake up late in the morning! Lol! So after shower, we went to Wisma Hopoh to collect hubby’s new TagHeuer spectacles. 2 pairs cost him over RM2000! When I was complaining about the price, he said “They are for my eyes! They worth it”. Luckily he can claim from his company or else, I wonder he would say the same thing if otherwise! Lol!

Same time, we hunt for Christmas presents at Wisma Hopoh. Suppose to get mine too, but little gal was very restless when we have our lunch at Hong Kong Noodle House at Wisma Saberkas so we aborted the plan! Never mind, hubby said it will be a surprise present for me on Christmas Day. I know what he is getting for me, but don't know what brand he is going to get. I will only find what my present would be under the Christmas tree in the morning of Christmas Day.

Just a silly thought

Just finish hanging my washed laundry at the balcony. It was a tiring day, some colleagues are on leave, leaving few of us to handle sales. Maybe it is end of the year, so we have many customers around.

Sometimes I wish life would be better at home after coming back from a hectic work. Don’t you wish for a machine or robot that can wash the dirty clothing, take them out from washing machine, hang them for drying and fold them nicely for you?? *wink* I must be dreaming too much or I am too tired to dream of such impossible??

Either way, I wish I can have some miracle or magic. Sometimes I am too tired that I just leave the dirty clothing washed in the washing machine at night and only dry hang them the next morning. No energy after work! Sigh!

Beautiful things

My hand, arm and legs are painful now. After hanging the tennis racket for more than 2 years, this morning 2 hours of tennis game proved a bit too much for me. My game turned rusty, hardly can hit much balls into the other side of the court. We played from 8am till 10am at the nearby tennis court. Regardless of the rusty games, I love the sweating and exercise.

Since nothing much to be done this afternoon and little gal is following her aunt and uncle for a walk at The Spring (she just loves window shopping), I decided to sort out my pictures in my thumbdrive, arranging them according to dates. Although my thumbdrive is of 2GB, I am not so sure it can fit much pictures judging from the vast pictures I have taken all this while. Mostly of little gal. I guess being the first child, as a parent, you always want to take memories of your child and his or her growing years.

The latest pictures of her taken are posted in my other blog, where we were helping out hubby to set up Christmas tree in his office last week. Before we off to his office, we stopped by the shop that sold festive decorations and gifts as hubby would like to get some more decorations for his tree. Hubby still like a kid, loves to decorate Christmas tree. I think Christmas is one of his favourite holiday! LOL! While we were at the shop, I took the opportunity to take some shots of the decoration they have. They have some really nice decorative trees there (white, blue, tall and short; you name it, they have it) and little gal was very excited to see so many Christmas trees and decorative stuff, she kept running here and there.

Don't you like this nice silver bell? How about the classic looking Santa?? This is one part I like about Christmas. Time to shop for decoration and presents, decorate Christmas trees and enjoy some classic Christmas songs.

Planning for shopping spree

It is time to pamper myself to real shopping. I am talking about the festive sales which are everywhere. They are too tempting and I cannot control myself from not spending some monies on clothing for the Christmas as well the Chinese New Year which is not far ahead.

My insurance agent called me up few days ago, telling me my investment fund has matured and can be redeemed. Well, why don’t cash it out since I entitled to the fund after been faithfully paying my premiums for many years! Of course I wouldn’t be spending all the amount, maybe a 10% of it. Wow! It is time to give my wardrobe a total changeover. Lol!!

My sister even asked me to go to hair salon together with her next Monday since it is a holiday. I am thinking of straightening my hair but haven't really decide on it yet. Sis is getting her hair curl, ask me to be her companion. See how it goes on that day. Have you started on your Christmas shopping?

Blow My 1st candle

On this day last year I have started my own blog space, Rose’s World! I have been actively following some of the food and mother blogs around for almost a year before deciding to have one. I have never thought I would have gone this far. My excitement and enthusiasm have never burned out for the past one year although I did encounter some obstacles along the way. I have to thank my fellow blogger friends for been supporting me all this while! It is truly an awesome year for me as I meet many new friends along the way and share many experiences with me. They are truly an inspiration to my blog!

One year ago when I decided to start a blog, my first question popped into my mind would be “what should I be blogging about?” Food? I am not the adventurous type and wouldn’t want to bore my readers with my boring cooking and food adventures. I wouldn’t want to compete with those faboulous food blog friends either. My life? Nothing interesting about that either! LOL! So, in the end, I decided to have a bit of this and that, and mix it into one!! So, Rose’s World was born on this day in 2007!

Now I simply infatuated with blogging. My perception on blog has changed over the year too. Initially I planned to use this blog as an online diary for my reading pleasure when I grow older and for my children to know my life experiences and adventures. About a month later I started up another blog, solely dedicated to my family only, and Rose’ World would be more of my personal blog on my daily experiences at work, outside from home, personal opinions and food adventures.

Through blog, I have learnt many things from other bloggers; able to share what they have experienced and encountered, and get to know more people with different cultures from other countries. There is never a day when I was bored visiting your homes as the time visiting you guys is always amazing and full of surprises. Now blogging world is like a place where you share experiences and meet new friends from other parts of the world.

I know I would not be able to experience all those wonderful feelings if I didn’t start blogging. By staying in Kuching without traveling around the world, how I am going to meet a friend from US and get change to view all those beautiful season photographs? And what more, blogging is FREE of charge!! Isnt that awesome?? Not only that, I have the opportunity to earn some decent money (although not very huge sum) from blogging. How more interesting can blogging be?? So, my advice to some fellows out there that plans to start a blog, just get down registering one straight away! Don’t hold back as you will never know what you have missed.

Some may think that blog is a nuisance, waste of time and energy, only those with nothing to do or too much free times would write a blog! It is not totally true. A blog brings people with same interests together. A blog is neither good nor bad, it is how you think of it. Good or bad is up to your perception. Your blog is your own space where you can decide on what to write and what to be shared in it. Even Malaysian ministers are blogging now. Whether you like it or not, blog is becoming a part of our life in this big world; it acts as a communication and advertising media.

There may be some day when my mind is totally blank and cant think of what to put in my blog, but come other days when a lot of ideas rushing in that I can post 3 – 4 posts in a day! LOL! I hope I didn’t bore my fellow readers and friends with some nonsense and long winded topics in the past. *wink*

I would like to take this golden opportunity to thank all my blogger friends (some of you have been loyal and visit my blog almost everyday. You know who you are) for your kind comments. Without you guys’ comments, this blog would be a quiet space indeed. Without you guy’s continuous support, I wouldn’t have gone this far and becoming a part of bloggers family. And please continue to support me ok? *laugh* A big kiss from me! MUAK! Thank you and I love you guys.

How would I celebrate my 1st anniversary as a blogger? Hmm, maybe buy myself a small cake with a candle. Blow my own candle. Huuuu! Happy blogging, my friends. Here, I leave you with a quote from one of greatest writers, William Shakespeare that goes like this:

But if the while I think on thee, dear friend, All losses are restored and sorrows end.~William Shakespeare

Bloody sweet

I have just taking a nice cold shower after finished cleaning up the room. Phew! It is damn hot in the house. Don’t know I should thank the sun or what, but one part I got my laundry all dried up and one part, I am panting with sweat clearing and cleaning the room. Mind you, I just clean up only 1 part of the house and I am complaining it is a hard job!! Lol! Think I cannot be a full-time housewife!

Must be all those boxes and books on the book shelf and little gal’s toys and items on the basket, I have been attacked by mosquito while cleaning up the room. I have a sensitive skin especially when it comes to mosquito. I can stand dust, I don’t have a sensitive nose, but when come to mosquito, I cannot stand its bite.

Now I got a bite on my thigh and one on my right jaw. So I am smell of Axe Brand Oil (Minyak Cap Kapak) after my shower. LOL! Since young, I have been using Axe oil when I got itch or any insect bites. It works on me. I know some people hate its smell and will never used it. Anyone hate Axe Brand Oil? What other ointment do you used for such case??
It is very frustrating when my little gal got some red marks on her legs, hands and face. Mosquito bite what else! Mosquito loves to bite her and even I used the repellants and get rid of them, they never stop disturbing my gal. Young children's skins are more tender and would not heal fast when they have bruises or bite.

If she got any bite, I will usually apply some green ointment on her bite mark. I don't used Axe Oil as she thinks it is "hot". Sorry dont know what that green ointment called, in Chinese writing. Usually it takes about 5 to 7 days for the marks to disappear. During my confinement more than 2 years ago, the confinement lady then told us to buy some Chinese herb and pig’s intestine and boiled them together for my little gal’s bath! And of course my in-laws objected to such suggestion, thinking pig’s intestine is dirty and would not do any good cause. I don’t know how true it is, never heard of such remedy. The confinement lady told me that by bathing babies using such items will help prevent mosquito from biting the babies and even if it does bite, marks will heal faster. Thinking of intestine, I go "yuk". Not to mention bathing in the water soaked with it! Double "yuk"!

A business to consider

A customer of mine introduced a botanical cum fruit juice to me recently. A direct selling product. Supposed to contain many botanical extracts and good for cleansing and building immune system. Out of goodwill, I bought one which cost me RM138 per bottle. I am getting hubby to try it since it is supposed to be good for smokers; detox, cleansing etc. So far hubby did not complain of any side effect, so I guess the product is good. Just drinking for 5 days, so not really sure of its effect yet.

This customer of mine now is turning into full time direct seller of such product. It is amazing at how determine and confident she is in this product and business that she resigned from a well-paid job to do all those. She is trying to sell me off with the ideas of multi-level marketing which I know well since I am a distributor of another multi-level marketing too! I have been acquired to the idea of network marketing, multi-level marketing, copycat marketing for many years, but I have never have that inspiration (maybe not yet) to go full time. However I admired those people that achieved freedom in doing in and very successful with it. Anyone into network marketing and is a very successful person?

Tomorrow I will be on leave. Manager told each of us to clear our leaves and not to be brought forward to next year. I have 6 more days left, so clearing 1 of them tomorrow. I guess I will just relax and do some spring cleaning. I haven’t been really get down to good cleaning for many weeks and my bedroom is a mess. Sigh!

Weekend Menu #11

Go chicken!

I am becoming to be an early bird lately, hardly can sleep well. Keep waking up few times at night and in the morning, I will wake up around 6.15am while the rest of the household still in dreamland.

Yesterday was my examination day, and I am glad that it is over. Don’t know the result yet. I have been dreaming of chicken soup for past days. Must be the cold and rainy season that make me crave for soup. And guess what? Since I cant sleep this morning, why don’t go to the market and get some chicken drumsticks and wings and make lunch??

Hubby craves for fried chicken so I took the liberty to cook lunch. End up I cooked both fried chicken and chicken soup in one meal. LOL! So we have chicken dishes for our lunch and enjoy CSI series in front of the television. And little gal also starting to taste her first fried drumstick. LOL! I think both hubby and myself would stop taking chicken for the next couple of days.

What do you think of my fried chicken? Can compete with KFC? I think my drumsticks are bigger than those served in KFC. *wink*

Craving for roti canai

Lately I have been craving for spicy food. I know that it is not good for my health but a little indulgence once a while would not be too much, right? It is hard to find good Indian and mamak food in Kuching, and if they are available, the prices are high rocket. I guess they are considered specialty dishes here in Kuching. If you ever dream of a nice Indian rojak and curry mee, do try the Kucei Rojak at Batu Lintang Hawker centre.

Like I mentioned early, not many choices of Indian or mamak food around. Even the existing ones imposed expensive prices on their food and drinks. But when one’s crave builds in, even high prices cannot stop one from satisfying the craving and stomach.

Ammah, opposite Unimas in jalan Tun Ahmada Zaidi Adruce is one of the good mamak place when you can enjoy a nice glass of teh tarik and roti canai alike. Been a “heavy tea drinker”, hubby usually needs minimum of 2 glasses of iced tea to quench his thirst. In today breakfast, he ordered his usual iced tea (1 glass) and teh tarik (1 glass). And hubby looked at me one kind when my order came with question “Are you sure you can finish your plate?” LOL!

Both of us ordered 2 roti telur each, but never mind. It needs patience to eat at Ammah as their orders are pretty slow. It took us more than 30 minutes for our roti telur. RM14.50 for our breakfast. Now that is a great price and food to consider

Thank you, excuse me, please, sorry

Since young, little gal was taught on proper manner and how to be courteous. It is vital to teach children proper manner because they are learning and always imitate the adults. They learn by example.

Every time she wants something, we will teach her to say with “please”. “Open the door, please”. Now without us teaching or telling her to thank people, she will thank even the cashiers when we make payment at the cashier, or someone giving her gifts. If she did something wrong, she will point out it is her fault and apologizes. And if we did not bother about her, she will shout at top of her voice “excuse me” for attention.

Teach your children those magic words. It make parents proud to have well-mannered children, don’t you agree?

Am I glad it is over

When was the last time I even sat in exam room, in front of a pc, answering 60 objective questions? And not to mention those questions are confusing and difficult to answer!

I was talking about my unit trust examination that I took this morning. It started sharply at 9.00am, a 2-hour examination. Thank god I passed, but I don’t know what the score is. I don’t care the score, as long as I pass and get the certificate right? Yes! I am certified to sell unit trust, so if anyone has any questions or interest to buy unit trust, do look for me! Lol!

I don’t really study much for the examination. Hardly have time when you are working like half day during the day and come back home to an active child and tired like a log, right? I am supposing to study when I took 2 days leave on Thursday and Friday, but half day was gone on Thursday for my little gal’s registration. Yes, we finally register her in pre-school. After breakfast we went to bank to withdraw cash, brought her to studio for passport-sized photographs and view around the pre-school before decide to register.

As for yesterday, I was busy cooking lunch for hubby and myself after sending little gal for her Hepatitis A booster injection in the morning. Also my handphone did not stop bothering me with SMS and calls from manager and customers asking for information. Sigh! No revision last night, I took early sleep around 10pm. Like my old school days when I sat for SPM. No late night study for me as I don’t have the habit of cramping all information last minute.

There would be another 2 more examinations next Saturday but for time being, I do not want to do any revision. I guess I will start revision tomorrow or when I am on leave next week (if I really get down to it by then). *wink*

The Power Blog

I got this Power blog award from Dora. Thank you very much. I wish I can be like those cute power puff girls, have special powers and save the day in the end! LOL! If I have any special power and can save the day, I would love to save the current economic turmoil we are going through and stop the suffering of people (those crying no tears in investment and especially the poor who are even poorer now).

Be frank, I need some superior brain power now. Tomorrow I would be sitting for my Unit Trust examination and I hope I will pass it!! And tell you the truth, I seldom watch the power puff girls cartoon, but I remember their names, i.e.Buttercup, Bubble and Blossom. Recently Mixfm has a question on the name of those 3 girls in their morning's show "Are you smarter than a 12 years old?". That is how I can remember their names. LOL

Hope we choose the right one

We have finally enrolled little gal in a pre-school near to her baby sitter’s house. Reasoning is very simple. Distance of the pre-school to baby sitter’s house. We brought little gal over this morning to have a look at the pre-school. They even have a swimming pool in the compound.

It would be half day session for little gal, so her baby sitter will be able to pick her up and look after her for the rest of the afternoon. The school starts from 8.30am to 11.30am. Guess it is a reasonable arrangement as we have no plan of letting her be at the pre-school the whole day. At least I am relieved knowing she is taken care by someone she can relies on and would not be at the pre-school the whole day.

Not that I have anything prejudice about putting her whole day in pre-school, but I think my gal is still young and would not be that independent to look after herself. Going to school would be new experience to her, so I wouldn’t want to put her in a stressful situation. She would not be in one place the whole day, yet have the pleasure of meeting new friends and learn new things in pre-school and can rest and relax in her baby sitter’s house while waiting for us to pick her up after work.

The pre-school is less than 5 minutes drive from baby sitter’s house, so it is convenient for her to pick little gal up. We have a tour around the school, brought her to see the younger age class. When those children saw little gal, everyone rushing to greet and touch her, much to little gal's surprise. She ran away from them! Lol! We also manage to view the children singing "Negaraku" anthem and some children songs at the assembly hall. And guess what little gal like the best? The playland where there is a slide there. LOL~

It is a norm to register your children earlier for next year’s school calendar. School starts on 5 January 2009. If you did not register your children earlier (some even require 6 months and more to ensure entry), especially in the reputable pre-schools, children would not stand chance for a spot in that school. The pre-school that we enrolled in only open for weekday. No schooling on Saturday, unless for special classes where separate fees will be levied on.

The registration part is done this morning. RM1127 in total for 1st semester. The fee includes text book, insurance, kit, uniforms, gymwear etc. As she is at the younger class, she will have her own teacher to guide her in reading, so we also paying RM44.00 for a reader fee. Wow! Now the other worried part would be little gal’s first day. Wonder what would be her reaction on the first day, and not to mention her parent’s emotion on sending their little girl to school!!? The school even have holiday camp where children can register earlier before the semester starts to familiarise with the environment and lots of activities like play time, baking and singing will be introduce during the holiday camp which last for 4 weeks from next week till December. We are still thinking whether to enrol her in the camp or not. If yes, I would need to take leave to accompany her on her first day.

Senseless Sunday mumbling from me

Aaah! Sunday! With a blink of our eyes, it is almost a Sunday evening. And a wet Sunday evening too, as it is raining heavily outside now. How come when we are not working, time passes so fast that Saturday and Sunday are just not enough? Why there is never enough time for ourselves and for our family??

We just finished 3 series of CSI on AXN Channel. Thought of catching up on some revision but my mind was blank and nothing can be absorbed in. Sigh! I think I am getting lazier or is it that my brain is no longer that competent as where I was in school? Exactly 10 years ago, I graduated from university with a master degree. And exactly 10 years ago I got my first job too. Wow!

Frankly, have you even plan your life, like what you want to do, what you want to achieve when you reach a certain age etc? I know someone who actually plan what and when she wants to do something. Like when she wants to have boyfriend, wants to get married, have children, buy a house etc. Super woman I have to admit! It may be good that you have a plan or direction in life, but aren’t those things unpredictable and not within your hand?

Wearing your sunglass during raining night

A colleague told me to try wearing sunglass at night to reduce the glaring effect from cars that drive the opposite direction. It may sound weird but I tried it out myself out of curiosity.

It proved correct, much to my surprise. Wearing sunglass does reduce the glaring effect of other cars’ lights, and not only that. The vision is clearer too!! It is much clearer when you put on your sunglass when it was raining in the evening.

I tried it once, of course with hubby on the driver’s seat. Try and be the judge yourself

Healthier fried rice?

My little gal loves to take fried rice so her mummy cooked some for her over the weekend. I pre-cooked the rice, enough for 2 persons (myself and hubby) as little gal doesn’t eat much.

For the ingredient, I used big onion, cabbage, anchovies and egg. The type of fried rice hubby loves. Fried rice may not be that healthier since it involves frying, but I guess with those ingredients (vegetables and anchovies) I guess I have substitute some protein and calcium in my carbohydrate-packed fried rice. And of course, avoid using too much oil in the cooking.

Luckily both hubby and gal enjoyed it. That makes wifey and mummy very happy! LOL!

Another week

I was busy preparing reports in the office, hardly have time to take a deep breath. The next minute, boss is calling me to her office, asking me about my weekly performance. I was speechless as wonder how to tell her that I am going to fail this week!

And the next minute I know, I woke up from my bad dream. Oh dear. I am dreaming. And worst, I am dreaming I were at work, pushing hard for my target. Last week was the start of my weekly target and I have to say I just manage to pass. Not with flying colours, but just pass. I am dreading to go to work this morning, because I knew I have failed this week. And not only me, my other colleagues too. Economic is really hitting hard on us. And everyone complaining of lack of sales and customers are reluctant to take money out from their pocket to invest with us. Oh dear, wonder how all of us are going to go through this week…………… sigh!!
I have been in the new company for 2 months. Everything is different compared to previous company, the system, procedures and office rules etc. Everything is not the same. Just a short 2 months, but I have been through so many e-learning, meetings and product training.

On the bright side, November is here again and without you knowing it, Christmas and New Year are around the corner. Yes! It means it is festive and shopping time. Some shops already in Christmas mood with some Christmas tree and decorations put up. Wow! Time really is passing away fast.

An unduly disturbance on a Sunday morning

I have a habit of switching on my handphone when I woke up every morning (I usually off it when I went to bed the night before). Today, I switched on my handphone at 6.50am. As usual, little gal reluctant to sleep longer than her normal hour, so I have no choice to wake up with her.

As we were tugging lazy on our respective beds, suddenly I heard a noise below me. Someone was banging at our gate. Oh yes, I knew who make that noise but the shocking thing is at such unduly hour?? Never happen before in the past.

Who else but the grass cutter that I have complained to you before. Yes, I guess he must be worry sick that we will not be at home, so he came so early on a Sunday morning just to cut our grass.

Not only that he was banging at our gate, but he was climbing over it into our compound. All those noise from the grass cutter he made. And after done with the cutting, he was banging at our front door demanding for money. I don’t know what you would think but I think that was some harassment on his part. One part he already trespassing our compound, second part he cut the grass without our permission and lastly he demanding for money on services that we did not ask for. Don’t you think that was annoying?

It is that night again

It may not be as crazy as in the West as Halloween is not much celebrated in this part of the world. Every year on this date, people will be making fun of themselves by dressing up like ghosts, zombies and witches and bringing along carved pumpkins. You attended any Halloween party before?

I have never attended any Halloween party before but I remember in my previous employment, there was a particular year where I needed to dress up for a children fancy dress competition. Been held in conjunction with Halloween party, the theme for the competition was The Addam’s Family. Want to guess which character I dress up as??

No consolation prize for the correct guess, okay? LOL! I give you a clue. I was heavily make-up, so heavy and pale that it took me hours of washing the make up off my face. And I wore a long black dress.

So tonight is a Halloween night. What would be your programme tonight? Hubby would not be in as he has Halloween treat with his fellow colleagues. So I guess I would be staying at home with little gal, see any good Halloween cartoons on tv or not.

What are or have we been eating?

Jam and jam everywhere. It was unusual to encounter traffic jam on a mid-week, so it was not what I was expecting in the morning. Stuck in jam on the same road for almost 30 minutes was very frustrating. Thank god manager was on leave today, so we could be slightly late. However this is not an acceptable excuse to be late when manager is not in. As much as I love to reach office earlier by getting out from the house and start my car on usual time, luck was against me this morning. LOL!

Time went by very fast in the morning at work. When hubby sms me for lunch around 12noon, I were not realizing that it was almost lunch time. We have a nice lunch at John’s Place (the row of shop opposite the Tua Pek Kong temple). 2 plates of fried mee hoon, a big bowl of fish head soup and 2 glasses of iced tea cost us RM21.40. It is pretty expensive judging from the coffee shop standard but you would not regret eating at John’s Place. Actually today was my 2nd time there, a colleague introduced to me. The food may be pricey but quality and portion worth the price! Sorry to say that I forgot to take the pictures of the food. Promise the next time we drop by, I would not forget to take some shot of it! *wink*

While having our lunch there, overheard from another table discussing about the contaminated milk powders from China. Then slowly the topic going into contaminated eggs. How unsafe the food now. Imagine what we or our children have consumed all this while. A plain and simple produce such as egg is also contaminated with dangerous chemical. All because of profit and selfish act.

It was another shocking revelation when I received an email in the afternoon about my favourite snack! Pringles also contaminated with some chemical. Oh boy! Chemical that harmful to our body and if consumed much, it will cause kidney problem. So I am definitely not going to eat Pringles for the time being! I am not so sure whether this news was out in newspapers and not so sure of the validity of such news, but it is really depressing to hear all those news about putting chemical into processed food.

I think I will stick to vegetables and fruits more and encourage my family to eat more greens! But vegetables and fruits are not that cheap either. Just the other day, I bought few apples and papayas, they cost me more than RM10! Nothing is cheap anymore! Sigh!

Not so good for her

As much as I love to feed my little gal with food, sometimes when a “no” is a definitely no for her. Some say she is very tall for her age and some commented that she is too skinny for her age. I guess kids around her age should be chubby, right? And when they are chubby, they are considered healthier. Hmm, I don’t know about the healthy part as for me, chubby may not mean they are healthier. They may tend to eat and love to eat anything, but that is not so good for young children.

I have to admit that little gal is slightly underweight for her age. Hardly gaining much weight since she was 2 years old, and as a parent, I do get worry. During the weekend, she hardly takes solid food. I seldom cook at home over the weekend, most of the time, we hanging out at my BIL’s cafĂ©. We have our dinner mostly there.

Sometimes I wonder how her nanny feed her, but when with us, she will play with her food and most of the food either spill over the table or drop on the floor. Not into her mouth. Sigh! Double worry. Thank god she requested for her milk occasionally, but not taking solid food is a concern too. I know I have been complaining of my little gal’s weight and eating habit, but what can I do to make her eat her food.

I heard from friends that when children starting to go to pre-school they will pick up and acquire to eating more frequently. I hope it is true, as she will be sent to pre-school next year.

I am running out of ideas on feeding her food. She does love fried rice, and sometimes she can finish a big bowl of fried rice. It is rather scary then as I know fried rice is not good and healthy for young kids. We tried blackmailing her with shopping every time feeding her or attracting her with other stuff. I know it is not good to lie to your children, but what else can we do? Oh well, here I go again mumbling about my kid’s eating habit.

Cooling water for heat

It is the durian season, and everyone is falling sick because of overeating. Everyone I met was either down with sore throat or coughing. That is how “great” the king of fruits are.

I am keeping my distance from the fruits. I do not fancy them anymore unlike when I was a kid. For those falling sick due to the fruit, remedy would be drinking some herbal or cooling tea to get rid of the heat. One cooling drink that is made available in supermarket is Three Legs cooling water, with a rhinoceros as the front picture. When ever hubby having migraine or not feeling well, a drink or two of the Three Legs cooling water will help.

I don't know what to name this post

When was the last time I posted something here? 5 days ago. Sorry for been absent for sometime as I cannot think of anything interesting or brilliant to write and post on. My brain is empty most of the time. You can say, tired is a more suitable word. From the look of my post title above, you can guess how blur I am sitting in front of pc typing this post. But I still want to write something here. LOL!

My manager has been swamping me with questions and expectation of targets almost every day till I know how to imitate her exact words each time I go into her room. My sales target starting next week, so she was concern about my performance. Coupled with poor sales (I did not get enough sales in last week which accumulate to following week) so she keeps asking me to cross sales over the phone.

Yeah, I got to call people (strangers mostly) introducing them our products and services. There were hundred and one products (it is just to show that I have to sell many things to people at one time), it takes time to talk to people about them over a phone call. And I hate talking to strangers over the phone when I don’t know them well. It is more comfortable to meet people face to face, knowing their body language and face expressions, which tell you whether they enjoy the conversation or interested in what we are saying. Not so much to guess if you are talking over the phone right? So I guess tele-marketing is not my strong field here.

For the past 3 weeks I have my own clientele, building from walk-in customers. Some even becomes my friends, everyday calling me up asking for updates. It is an enjoyable work especially at the end of the day, I am able to help them and offer my assistance. There isn’t one thing I hate about my work, just that it involves a lot meetings. Gosh! I thought my previous company has many meetings and appointments every week, this company has even more. Out of 5 days a week, I have meetings for 3 days. Long and lengthy one that start off my days at work. *laugh*

Enough work for now. I do not want to think about my next week “failure” for now. For time being, I am going to enjoy that it is a Friday night, and tomorrow and Sunday is going to be a relaxing day! Yes, Rose and family is going away to the beach tomorrow afternoon. Till then, catch up with you guys when we are back.

Endless mumbling

I should have done some ironing (but I hate ironing as you would know by now) or revising for my upcoming examinations since little gal has yet to wake up from her beauty sleep, but I just want a break for all those tasks.

Yesterday I went to Permai with colleagues, it was fun. Everyone enjoying themselves. It was a team building session, where everyone was grouped into 2 teams. There were 30 of us. Each team have to compete 10 challenges in total (climbing up to high pole and walk/crawl to next point, swinging from one bar to another, crawling on the ground and climbing up walls etc). We started our bus trip around 8am and along the way to Permai we encountered long queue as one school having some activities as well. We caught in the jam for about 20 minutes. We reached Permai just after 9am. Yeah, I have to wake up so early on a Saturday. Long time I didnt wake up at such hour to drive to the city! LOL! And guess what? I have dreamt that I missed the bus. And I woke up around 3something in the morning, thinking it is 6am, and only to realise I still can sleep in some more hours. Gosh! Were I excited or anxious? I hardly have a good sleep at all.

We finished the challenges around 12.15pm. After that, we headed to the camp cafe for our bbq lunch. I guess all of us were too hungry, that we ate and finished everything from bbq squid, bbq chicken wings, fried noodle, tom yam soup, bbq lamb and so much more. During the bbq lunch, a colleague was telling us a story of her friend who underwent a surgery to fix her wrist. According to my colleague, that friend’s doctor saying it is due to too much time spend in front of pc. Too much typing and pressing on the keyboard. Do you believe it?

I heard of such story before where people developing pain in fingers and wrists for pressing too hard (much) on the key boards, but first time hearing story where a surgery is needed to rectify the problem. Somehow that colleague’s friend has developing the problem for so long and never bother about the pain. And would you believe it? Now she cant hold heavy thing on her affected hand. Scary right? So guys, I don’t know how true it is but how to prevent from not typing on keyboards?

It applies the same to handphone I believe. There was a time when I was SMS too much that I can feel "sourness" on my fingers, especially my thumbs for pressing too much on my phone. Life is about keyboard and notepad in this modern world, so I really don’t know how to prevent from that finger/wrist problem. Moderation may be the answer to that problem.

My legs and thighs are painful now and I have bruises on my arm. From yesterday exercises in Permai. When I reached home around 3pm yesterday, I hardly can walk up the stair to my bedroom. LOL! Talking about clueless mumbling from me. I mustn’t be typing too much myself. LOL! Got to get down to some chores before calling it a night. Tomorrow is another Monday. It is going to be a busy day, I am anticipating it. Have a wonderful week ahead, everyone.

Butterfly Award for coolest blog

A very wet and cold day today. Rained in the morning and it is raining again in the evening. Cats and dogs till hubby hardly can see the cars in front of him! Thank god I am not driving today and I have hubby as my driver and keep me and little gal company on the road. We were so lazy to go to my BIL's cafe for dinner tonight, so we decided to head straight home and cook dinner. What else. Instant noodles..LOL! 3 of us enjoying our instant noodles in front of the tv. Now I am so full that I am lazy to do revision for my coming examinations. Hardly can absorb the notes and I think my mind is still pretty blank. Why not? No information was input in there. LOL!

Wanting to get away from the boring revision, I decided to check other friend's blogs and one of them is Lovely Mummy's corner. I am jealous that she is going to Thailand soon (but of course happy for her that she is going). I should have been going there myself sometime soon, but due to some changes in our plan, we decided to hold it to next year. Hopefully I would get a chance to step my feet there next year! *wink* And thanks to Lovely Mummy for giving me this beautiful award too. I am flattered to be known as one of the coolest blogs.

Here are the rules to go with the award:-

1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3. Nominate 10 other blogs.
4. Add links to those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs

I am lazy to nominate 10 names, so everyone is welcome to grab and put in their blog.

So out of shape

I have not been attending aerobic classes for 2 months now. And some of my aerobic friends and instructor even call me up, wondering whether something is happening to me. For the past 1 year I have been actively attending the classes, at least twice a week, but since September, I hardly can squeeze some times for it.

I do feel that I am fatter. Forget about that curvy waistline, now everything is one line! And poor hubby, he has to endure my long complaint about my body. LOL! Not forgetting the late dinner that we have almost every night, usually around 8 pm. Every evening we would tag along at my brother-in-law's cafe, which open its door early of the month. The cafe is situated next to Choice Premier and it serves nice Chinese dishes. Not that I am boastful about my BIL's outlet, but it is worth trying. Being family, of course we have privileges of food tasting and not to mention our big portion of dishes. So you can imagine how hard for us not to eat too much after a tiring day at work, right? I tend to eat more when I am tired. Funny? I tried to limit my intake but knowing my limit, I just cannot stop myself from finishing what is in front of me. Sigh!

Do you pant for breath when you walk up the 1-storey high stairs? I do. That show how unfit I am. Sigh! Sometime I wish for a trackmile in the comfort of my house, but then again, it is just a thinking. When I do have a trackmile in front of me, will I really exercise? LOL! Man! I am so confused, right? Dont really know what I want. I think I have some lazy bones in me after been idle for so long. LOL.

I do not look and speak like one

Maybe in this part of the world that people cannot differentiate what race are you? In the past I have been asked whether I am mixed or of other race other than Chinese. I don’t know that I should be flattered or what, but I am 100% pure Chinese blood. I don’t think any of my ancestors in the family tree either from my dad or mum’s side have any mixed blood.

Some more my Chinese is pretty “broken” in the sense that I have an accent to it, according to my friends that know me well. I am not good in Hokkien, and so is Mandarin and there goes for other language like English and BM. Oh boy, when I talked, it is rojak (mixed) of every languages. Even my little gal also rojak like me, verses in Mandarin, Hokkien, BM and English.

Back in school time, I were much close to other races. I do not mix well with Chinese. I guess that was where I learnt my Bahasa Sarawak (local dialect which much like Bahasa Malaysia but some words are different here). You can say I speak Bahasa Sarawak well than any Chinese dialect, and not to mention my own mother tongue.

I only started to speak in Chinese when I went to college since most students are Chinese. Either you talk in English or Chinese. Of course I got chilled for my funny accent but thank god that I have good friends who encouraged and guided me properly. It is still a language to master even now, but who say that learn a language is easy?

I learnt Chinese from hubby and he learnt English from me. He is pretty lousy with spelling and writing, so I am his English dictionary. And whenever I watched Chinese movie with any BM or English subtitles, he will be my translator! LOL!

Weekend Menu #10

There is once in a blue moon when we seldom include meat in our menu. Today is one of those days when we can say we go into meatless diet.

It is a lazy Sunday, and weather is rather crazy too. Hot in the morning but raining and gloomy in the afternoon. Planned to go for a swim at nearby swimming pool but weather does not permitted us to do so. Most of the week I have meat and seldom take vegetables and fruits, so I would love to have more green in my menu on a Sunday. It is much healthier to cook than eating out right? At least we know what we put in our food. Imagine all those MSG and preservatives that we ate outside. But it is part of the lifestyle especially young couples like ourselves, that eating out cannot be avoidable.

Cooking at home is fun and a lot more satisfying to see your family enjoy the food we prepared. *wink* Usually hubby and myself will take turns to cook on weekend, but our preferences are very much different. I love dishes with rice, while hubby’s specialty is Western cuisine (more meaty and oily). So most of the time, I volunteer to cook as I want to eat more greens.

Today menu are stir-fried cabbage with small prawns and salted mustard soup. Very homecooked and that is the way I like it! *wink*

Review: My resolution

I know it is just early of October, but you never know that the next time you blink your eyes, it is in December. That is how I feel now. Time passes very fast without me realising it!! I know it is very early but I am taking a step back to review on my activities/events that had happen for 2008. A review on what I have resolved to do and what have actually done or happen for the year. Let me refresh myself. I make a resolution earlier of the year to be a happier and healthier person.

Happier by spending quality time with my family and do the thing I want to do. I am glad hubby and I made a pact to do something with our career, and we did it this year. Job pressures are there, but we have made a choice to change job. We are earning more (and hopefully to save more) now. We have more times during the weekend for our lovely daughter. She is growing fast and we just couldn’t believe that soon she will be going to pre-school.

There was also a plan for Thailand vacation at the end of the year, but from the look of things we have to postpone it to next year. Nevertheless I am glad that I manage to take some time off in middle of the year, catching up with friends and shopping around in KL.

As for health, it does not take a day to transform myself into a healthier person. It takes much effort on my part to work out and eat healthier diet. I have on and off affair with sickness for most part of the year. Flu, sore throat and coughing are common. Actually I am having a sore throat now. Maybe because of new work, I hardly have time to drink water at work. And partly because of the humid weather (yeah, everything blame the weather, right? *wink*). So, I am trying (and still trying) to be healthy!! It is not easy with the current lifestyle and work commitment, but both hubby and I are trying hard. Hardly have times to go to aerobic nowadays.

I haven’t really thought what would be my next year resolution, but I guess I can always stick to the same resolutions. Who said that you have to make new resolution every year, right??

Time is ticking away

It is only Wednesday night? It just feels like a long week and I have been doing so many things that I thought it is a Friday night instead. Super duper busy day. Is that how to say it? What I am trying to express is that it is a busy week. Damn busy I hardly have time to drink my water and I am thinking that I am going to have sore throat soon. Now throat not feeling well and coughing occasionally.

After a relaxing week last week (with Hari Raya and weekend) it is not a week that I am expecting to start with, but my conscious mind telling me that otherwise. I knew that it is going to be busy week as my manager has told me that I am solely on my own. *Faint*

Fortunately the customers that I have handled so far are friendly and patient. They do not complain of my incompetence, which I am grateful of. Other colleagues complained that some customers are very boastful and rude, always complaining this and that. But in the end, customers always right.

Meeting customers are part of my work in the past (thank god for that), just that the products are not the same, so it does take times to get used to promoting them to customers. Not to mention that once a while I tend to answer my phone call using the previous company. Eg “Good morning, Company XXX, this is Rose speaking” It is not easy to erase the old company that I am so used to for 9 years from my brain overnight, right?

I am going to sit for 2 examinations in November, so I am much occupied every night. Not to mention I have to read thick reference books on my bed almost every night. You may not be seeing me very often on the blogging world as I really need to study for those 2 examinations. Cannot fail both otherwise I got to resit, maybe at my own expenses. Sigh!

Things are not the same as when I was a kid!

I don’t know about you, but when I was small, I loves to eat chocolates (even now I still adore them). Besides chocolates, I loves those potato chips. Mister Potato, Pringles and Cottage are some of my favourite chips. And not forgetting the tasty crunchy noodle, like Mamee with a blue monster with 1 sharp tooth on its package.

They are not the same now. They taste different. Not so original, if you get what I mean. I think during my time the snacks were mostly imported. Now are locally manufactured. I miss those days when I enjoy my snacks and the tastes of them still linger in my head. They do not taste the same, you just find them different.

If you are the 70s and 80s kids, I believe you still can enjoy ice “kantong” (I think the Hokkien took the word from “gantung” in Malay??) in pepsi flavour. It is a big snowflake hold by a stick in between which cost few cents, and you can even add some more pepsi to the ice when you finished sucking the ice. I hardly can find it in Kuching now. There used to be one stall near the road side along Jalan Mendu, but the stall has long gone. The auntie was very nice. She sold ice kacang, snowflakes and ice kantong. Anyone know anyone selling ice kantong??
