Weekenders and Liebster award

It is weekend again. Glad the girl's school trial exam is over but tomorrow would be her piano music theory exam. I am sure she can do well in that.

Nothing quiet this weekend as we have weekend guests staying with us. So we would be busy acting as hosts and drivers to our guests.

And thank you to the lovely Libby for this awesome award. And my oh my, it has been ages since I received one too.

I always dream of being own boss and have a small business. Something like a collectibles and antique trading shop.  Got inspirations from The Pickers in History Channel.

I met new friends, learn about their lives and interests from reading their blogs.

3. Which country/city would you like to travel next?
I would love to visit Lake Soba in Indonesia as a friend just back from there. Heard the beauty of the place and  rich culture from her.

Beautiful blogger

I almost forgot about this till I dropped by Azura's blog this evening. So without further ado, I better get it done since I promised her I will share some facts about myself.

It has been ages since I received an award, so thank you Azura for the lovely gesture. However as usual, I will break the rule here. No tagging since I think everyone deserve this award as they are beautiful in their own way. Feel free to accept this award and tag yourself and others.

7 facts about yours truly that you may or may not know by now :

1. I am a book junkie (used to be a serial addict in the past before I got my hands full with babies!)

2. I am a huge fan of sports but not skilled in any; love watching sports especially tennis, badminton and gymnastic.

3. A shy girl during school days. Hardly talk much but excel in study. Only started to talk non-stop once I entered college.

4. Was in Bahasa Malaysia medium through primary and secondary schools. Spoke mostly Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Sarawak during school days. 

5. Totally in love with rose apples since a young girl. Can eat it as it is or dip into some sour plum powder.

6. Have short-sightedness and started to wear glasses at age of 11.

7. I love roller-coasters and all those adrenaline pumping rides! Dream of bungee jump in NZ someday.

Father's day & Old trophies

Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend. And Happy belated Father's Day to my blogger friends and readers.

We did not go to any fancy place or did anything special. As usual, we went to church on Sunday morning and then did our grocery shopping before spending the whole day at home.

For the man of the house, I whipped up a simple home-cooked dinner on Saturday night. All his favourite dishes.

Lamb stew, stir fried Cameron Highlands lettuce and fried ngoh hiang

And what else I did over the weekend?

Took out my old trophies and gave them a wipe.

And God knows how old are these 2 trophies that I have.

This tall trophy was won in an organ music competition back in 1991. I took 2nd place in the competition which was held in Wisma Saberkas. Those days, organ was very popular. 

Another trophy I cherished was this trophy when I got in my primary school, SRB St Faith. 2nd place in overall Primary 6 class. 

The school was small with one class for each age group. I remember there was 20 something of us in the class back then.

Now St Faith primary is just a memory. The building has been demolished and church is taking the land back for its usage.

So this trophy is a keeper as the school is no longer  in existence.

Liebster Award from Azura

Sorry Azura for taking so long to post this up. When the last time I receive an award?? It was back in August 2012. Yeap, almost 2 years ago.

This Liebster award is interesting in a sense you have to answer a set of 10 questions set by the person that nominated you. I don't mind doing the questions but I have to break the rules here. I am not going to pass on the award, nominate anyone or set new questions. Super lazy to crack my head thinking of new questions. Hehehe.

1. What is your latest addiction?

Pepperoni with lots of cheese!

The Rake and His Lady.

I don't but my hubby do. That includes tea, coffee, creamer and sugar packets! Lol. I still cannot get him to quit this habit.

5. Sing in the car?

Sometimes.  Depend on what the radio is playing...

6. Do you still watch cartoons?

Once a while with my kids

7. Do you have any pet peeves? 

Yes, the drivers who takes their sweet times to turn to a lane or never bother to signal before turning!

8. Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?

I guess most kids would always wanted to be a teacher when they grow up.  I dreamt of being a teacher when I were younger. Next was an actress. ;)

9. When is the last time you updated your blog?

Yesterday!! Tried to update daily if possible. 

10. Last letter/piece of mail you received besides junk or a bill?

Happy Mom's Day! 

Happy Mom's Day to all the mothers and mothers-to-be out there!  Time for celebration, appreciation and family togetherness.  And a day of relaxation and not doing anything but let the hubby and children do all the housework and pamper you on this day (which is pretty hard I know).  Anyway, hope you guys have a great day today.

 

And what a great way to start off this beautiful day with a special blog award from me???  This Beautiful Mama Blog Award is created and started by Valerie of AtlantaMomOfThree which I happened to come across early this week.  What a great blog she has and I have been following her blog since then. 

 

 

Valerie has requested to list down 3 things that we love about motherhood, so here is my list:

 

1. My children -   The joy and fruit of pregnancy and motherhood. They are simply the best.  Children make you cry, laugh, angry and worry but such emotions are worth fighting for.  The best part?  When they suddenly hug, kiss and say "I love you, mommy".  Melt my heart away. 

 

2. Bring out the best in me - From a working mom to a stay-at-home mom for 5 months now, I have been through nothing short of crazy stuff everyday. I feel like I am a supermom; juggling among many jobs from maid, cook, teacher, loud hailer to note keeper.  Nevertheless being a mother has opened my eyes to a wonderful journey of bringing up my children.  A trying journey indeed.

 

3. Meeting some wonderful mamas from different places around the world - Motherhood is one of the reasons I started this blog back in 2007.  A place where I can meet more people, share my experience and journey as a mom and learn more from other mama bloggers.

A good start indeed

Thanks to Angeline who really makes my day with a wonderful award and tag.  It has been ages since I received an award and a tag. So a wonderful start in August like what Angeline said.

Am I a versatile blogger?  I am not sure, but I do write what ever comes to my mind, may it be food, something happening around me, my two kids or any special occasions.  And as part of receiving this award, I need to state 7 facts about myself.  Well, here goes nothing.....

1. I love purple and turquoise colours.  They are beautiful colours and most of my wardrobe is of those 2 colours.  I feel peace and young in them. *wink*
2. I am a rice person.  I will never go without rice in a day.
3. I love shopping for earrings.  And I have many pairs that I have no place to keep them.  My earrings ranging from simple diamond and pearls; party and tribe-themed to those exquisite and dangling type. 
4. I am a perfectionist by nature, never like faults but most of the time, I have to fine-tune to fit other people's demand.
5. I hate pork liver and what ever goes inside a pig! 
6. I am a homey person, loves to stay at home, reading and cooking.  So you know that I am counting down to the day I move into my new house and be that person.
7. I wish I could juggle my time well between my business and family.

Bring back the smile

Yes, after more than 2 months, I finally got my first commission from the company. I have been asking my manager on the commission from rental, and after much coaxing he finally gave it to us today. Plus bonus too....It brings a big smile to me. I need it for my CNY holiday.

Another good news is I received a call from the other company this morning. Remember I told you that I am thinking of open up a shop and be an entrepreneur? Yes! I have passed the interview and they want me to go to KL for 2 weeks training on 22 Feb. However I have to ask them to put off to later date as I would only be back from my CNY vacation on 21st and need to make other arrangements first before committing to them. Everything happens at same time!! Gosh!

And another good friend, Wenn gave me this "Sweet Friends" award. Thank you so much. You make my day. 3 great things happen today. Lol. 10 things that make me happy??

I have not done much blog hopping lately since I started this new job. Just today together with a female colleague, we drove around Kuching for almost 4 hours to deliver invitation cards to customers and potential clients. I drove my car while my colleague gone out and deliver the cards. We stopped at 4 shopping malls, Carpenter Street and Indian Street; which both is rather the busiest streets in Kuching. Some more there was some convention happening in the city area with many polices around. So, jam, jam and jam. Some more it rained heavily when we were at our last destination around 1something.

While sending my cards in the shopping malls, I am tempted to window shopping a bit. Yes, cannot stand the temptation of Year End and Christmas shopping. Some more the ambiance and decoration in the shopping malls make me in mood for shopping. Well, what to do? Luckily I did not bring much cash with me, so at least I would not spend on the spot. Lol!!


Ooopppss. Sorry, sway from the main topic of this post. Yes, the best blog award. I do not want to say that I am the best. It is up to my friends and readers to judge for themselves.

When ever I am free at night, I will try to do blog hopping, trying to update myself with other blogs. The Power Blog

I got this Power blog award from Dora. Thank you very much. I wish I can be like those cute power puff girls, have special powers and save the day in the end! LOL! If I have any special power and can save the day, I would love to save the current economic turmoil we are going through and stop the suffering of people (those crying no tears in investment and especially the poor who are even poorer now).

Be frank, I need some superior brain power now. Tomorrow I would be sitting for my Unit Trust examination and I hope I will pass it!! And tell you the truth, I seldom watch the power puff girls cartoon, but I remember their names, i.e.Buttercup, Bubble and Blossom. Recently Mixfm has a question on the name of those 3 girls in their morning's show "Are you smarter than a 12 years old?". That is how I can remember their names. LOL

Butterfly Award for coolest blog

A very wet and cold day today. Rained in the morning and it is raining again in the evening. Cats and dogs till hubby hardly can see the cars in front of him! Thank god I am not driving today and I have hubby as my driver and keep me and little gal company on the road. We were so lazy to go to my BIL's cafe for dinner tonight, so we decided to head straight home and cook dinner. What else. Instant noodles..LOL! 3 of us enjoying our instant noodles in front of the tv. Now I am so full that I am lazy to do revision for my coming examinations. Hardly can absorb the notes and I think my mind is still pretty blank. Why not? No information was input in there. LOL!

Wanting to get away from the boring revision, I decided to check other friend's blogs and one of them is Lovely Mummy's corner. I am jealous that she is going to Thailand soon (but of course happy for her that she is going). I should have been going there myself sometime soon, but due to some changes in our plan, we decided to hold it to next year. Hopefully I would get a chance to step my feet there next year! *wink* And thanks to Lovely Mummy for giving me this beautiful award too. I am flattered to be known as one of the coolest blogs.

I wish I could

Sometimes I wish I could online 24 hours a day and posting and blog-hopping as much as I could. Nah, unless I am a saint and no need sleep, I would love to jump into my blog and do the things I like. And of course do not care what the world outside my bedroom be and with hubby and little gal screaming next to me when I do this posting! Hahahahah!

But I believe come rain or shine, a blogger is always a person that cheerfully express his or her ideas and feelings to everyone that care to share with him or her!! A blogger will never stop or give up on himself/herself and his/her blog(s)! That is what a true blogger should be.

My first gold card

It was another busy day for me. A big meeting with 50+ people from the shopping centre since 9.30am and just ended few minutes ago. I was nervous like hell to present in front of those big crowd. Throughout my 8+ years service here, this is considered my 2nd time doing a speech in front of a big audience. You can imagine the butterflies I having before and during the meeting, but luckily everything went well and I didn’t faint during my speech! *wink*

To brighten up my day, I was presented with another interesting award from Hye! Thank you so much, my friend. This interesting award is called Blogging Friends Forever (BFF) Gold Card Award. Isnt it unique? An award cum gold card!! Now I can simply flash it around the blogging world to others. And yes, my first interactive gold card too! I can use it indefinitely without worry on registration fee, as it is totally free! Whats more, I can transfer and supplement the card to other blogging friends!

On Cloud Nine

On cloud nine on a Monday morning? You must be kidding me, you are thinking right??? Hmm, doesn’t sound right as I should not feel that way on a working day, some more on a Monday!! I am not happy that it is Monday today because I know I have meeting and works to do, but I am happy because of this award!!

A perfect Saturday

Wow, it has been a perfect Saturday so far for me! Although sitting alone in my office now, I feel I have friends accompany me from all corners of the world in the blogspace! I never feel bored or lonely.

The weather outside has been kind on us! Sunny since yesterday! Yahoo! It just feel good to be outdoor rather than sitting in my office now. Yes, I am dreaming of sunbathing on the beach right now! :p

What's more, I also received 3 highly-rated awards from a dear friend, Hye today. She has been a good friend and support this blog from the very beginning! I am very grateful for having such a good friend. :) Thank you Hye and congratulations to yourself too. You deserve them better than I do.

I always wonder who produce those awards in first place? I am amazed with all those award themes, they are simply awesome!
