Korea - Daejanggeum Theme Park

Day 2

We arrived in Korea on Monday, 15 February evening around 5.20pm (Korean time). We went for our cabbage soup pot before residing at our hotel in Seoul for a night.

The next day (16 February) we departed from our hotel at 8.00am and heading to a restaurant for a breakfast buffet. Korean breakfast buffet is very simple. I were too hungry and cold to take any photos of the food. Lol! One thing about Korean, they eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner! So that is why I said I am gaining weight from eating rice 3 times a day.

After we filling up our stomachs, we headed to our very first destination in Korea. Daejanggeum Theme Park. It was about 1 hour plus trip. Anyone remember “The Jewel In the Palace” drama?? Yes. That was the exact site where they filmed the famous drama. Although the real actress were not there, but at least I managed to pose with her in a card-board size there. Lol!

After visiting the site for about an hour, we went to the field next to it to play some snow balls. Of course I took the opportunity to feel snow on my hands and take photos of us lying on the bed of snow! Phew! Cold!

Looking into future home

Middle of the week I went to check on my new home with hubby. It is almost completed, with little touch-up along the way. I must chase the developer to speed up the work and handover the house to us.

A terrace house, with not much garden as the concept is practical and gardenless. As you can see the back of the house is small. Hubby planned to extend the back part and turned it into wet kitchen. So, no grass there. After all, I am not so good with maintaining grasses so might as well have everything cemented.

Hubby is complaining about the roads. More like a vehicle path, he said. Very narrow. Hubby is commenting on possibility of a fire truck to pass through the road in front of our house in case of emergency. Lol!! What to do? We bought our house out of a house model, so we cannot complain much right? But hubby has a plan of his own - form a community and everyday pounding at the developer/management corporation to do this and that! Oh dear, I can imagine the scenario is going to be.

Well, since we have seen the physical structure of our house, now it is time to take some measurements and come out with design.

Our Christmas Day

I love Christmas. I love Christmas Eve as that is where family gathered together for a Christmas dinner and toast. Luckily the night of Eve was cleared of rain, as it has been gloomy most of the day yesterday.

We bought a lamb leg from Tom's which cost us around RM150.00. A bit tough I felt or probably I have a bad tooth. I couldn't chew my lamb well last night. Ouch! However I enjoyed the grilled fishes and potatoes dish, compliments from my BIL.

This morning we brought Baby Jay to his first church outing. Since it was his first, we decided to stay in the children room which is on the first floor. Most of the time, he enjoyed what he sees, but he managed to take "eye shut" for 30 minutes.

Half way through the summon, I received a call from my dad (s**t, forgot to put my phone into silent mode but what the heck! The room was filled with noisy children so it was very rowdy and I hardly can hear the priest talking). My dad is suggesting to us to follow him to visit an aunt's house for lunch. Well, we obliged to the request since it has been many years since I didn't see this aunt and cousins. Actually this aunt was given away and adopted by a Bidayuh couple when she was a baby, but throughout the years, she still keep in touch with dad and other uncles.

So after the church, we went home to bathe Baby Jay and off we went to pick my parents and sis. It was about 30 minutes or more drive to aunt's house which is situated after Taman Kwong Khiong in Batu Kawa. So coincidence, when we reached aunt's house, we bumped into other uncles and cousins. So a very big family reunion we had; a lot of catching up, exchange of numbers and emails, snaps etc. I didn't know most of them, which happens to be my cousins-in-laws, nephews and nieces. Lol! You can say, how big my family is.....And Baby Jay being the youngest, was the centre of attention. Everyone asking about my little gal's whereabout. If she was there, I am sure she will be excited to play with her cousins.

When we reached home around 2pm, we were too tired and lazy to visit a neighbour's house. *paisey* Baby Jay has a busy day as he hardly slept. As I was typing this post, hubby went out to buy dinner from BIL's cafe. I don't feel like going out again after spending most of the day outside. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful Christmas Day. How do you spend your Christmas?

The interview and the kids

Thanks for the concern, my allergy has subdued. It only last for a night but boy!! What a night, but I survive.

I will be going for a job interview tomorrow. See what they are offering me. It is actually the 2nd interview; and tomorrow I would be meeting with the senior manager. I am supposed to go to the Registrar Office to collect my daughter's Mykid card but because of the interview I have to postpone to the day after. Same time, re-do Baby Jay's IC as there is a typo error there. We have corrected it once, but due to early input into the system (the wrong spelling), I have to manually get it changed again. So, it will have to be a few more trips down to the Registrar office.

As for this evening, since both kids are fast asleep, I have some times sorting out old photographs. Baby Jay has many photographs taken since he was born, and now I am free to group them into labelled folders. There is one particular photo I like the most. Baby Jay taken together with his big sister. It was taken about 2 weeks ago. Baby Jay was looking straight into the camera. Do you see the look-alike of sister and brother there? Do you like it? My princess and prince, posing for the camera! *say cheese*

What she eats

It is always hard to feed my 3 years old girl. She is choosy and tends not to be too adventurous when it comes to food. Some day she would like this dish, but other day, she will not touch it. So, it is pretty unpredictable to know what is her appetite.

Little gal loves to put her food in her mouth for as long as she likes. We say that she is lazy to chew and swallow her food. It takes ages to feed her one small bowl of rice. Most of the times, I have to remind her to chew and swallow her food.

So, to make life easier for her (and me), I usually cook porridge for her. She loves fishes especially those fried and crunchy types. I have to fry the fishes to perfect crunch, and break the fishes into smaller pieces for her.

To make her porridge more nutritious, usually I add some carrots and potatoes into it. That is what she eats most of the times. Funny appetite, right?

Busy me

Today is the 40th day and it means that Baby Jay is 40 days old. Some people observe 40 days confinement and usually wash their hair and take bath on 40th day instead on 30th day. But I don't, since 30th day I have washed my hair 4 times!! *wink*

Busy is another word to describe me. Damn busy with my new baby. He is super active in the morning, and will only sleep around 12noon for couple of hours. Fortunately Baby Jay sleeps longer during the night and only wakes up for feeding 2 to 3 times. His timing is pretty consistent, one around 12midnight (alternatively 1am, another around 3am (alternatively 4am) and sometimes around 6am in the morning.

So busy that I only have time for myself when the baby and little gal are not at home in the morning, when one sent to babysitter's house and another is at pre-school. Those few hours in the morning feel heaven (peace and quiet). *wink* But when come to weekend, oh dear! Hardly have time to breath and sit down.

I am also busy looking through the vacancy sections in newspapers and jobstreet.com, hopefully to be able to find a job soon. So far I have submitted one application. Meantime, I am "siu lai lai" staying at home, looking after my 2 children, and doing other errands.

I am still here

Yes, I am still very much pregnant. Just hanging around, didn’t do much lately. Making final checking and preparation for the arrival of new baby. I stayed at home more often now, one is that I have been forbidden from driving car and secondly it has been raining last week. So little gal stayed at home and did not attended school for 2 days as her dad cannot send her to school and I was banned from driving. But since it is school holiday now and due to A H1N1 fear, I prefer to have her stay at home more than going to school.

Didn’t update much on this blog for the past 1 week, not that there is nothing much to update on my part, but I am lazy to sit and type a post. Lazy to crack my head. Lol! Most of the time, I will be FB-ing and farming and also doing some blog hopping, checking out on other friends’ blogs. I have stop farming for time being; as I wouldn’t be able to look after my farms while I am in my confinement, right? Gosh, I am sure I would miss FB-ing and blogging during that period, but I guess there are other priorities that suppress and fill up my times to think or do other things. Family!!

Today is my birthday. One year older and hopefully wiser. I started my day by getting little gal to sing "Birthday Song" to me......Hmm, don't I feel great to hear my daughter sang "Birthday Song" to me?? Lol! Last night, my sis invited us to steam boat buffet. She just received her investment payout from her insurance policy, so she made it a double celebration; one for my birthday and one because of the payout. We went to My House steamboat which is located at Jalan Pending. Oh, I love seafood. So before I confine myself for a month or so, I better taste all those yummy crabs, prawns and fishes. *wink* And little gal??? She was more interested in the ice stick!!

Thanks sis again for the nice dinner! I love you! And not forgetting to thank Dora for introducing me to a nice digital scrapbook website. Congratulations to Dora too, she has upgraded herself to "Mummy" not long ago. Welcome to mummyhood, my friend.

How is my very first digital scrapbook?? I have been looking around for user-friendly digital scrapbooking site, but couldn't find any till Dora told me this site last week. Still a lot to learn especially on cropping, editing etc; haven't really get down to touring around for tips and guidance. Will embark more on it soon.
