I like this Curvy Wurvy Clutch

Mamabliss, an amateur in sewing and pattern design she said (but I think she has the talent and drive), is giving away yet another handmade clutch. The clutch is simply cute and I couldn’t resist not participate in her giveaway contest. Am glad that I am early this morning and decided to do some blog hopping before my normal morning routine. Lol!

Should I win it, I will give it to my little gal to keep all her hair accessories. Her previous mini bag that hold her accessories is torn so currently all her accessories are clustered here and there in the room. When ever she found one, she will start to play and misplace it somewhere. Lol!

So this nice Curvy Wurvy Clutch is what I need for her. If you interested to participate, do drop by her blog for more information…….and oh Mamabliss, please let me be the winner! *wink*

Birthday and more birthday

Some more pictures of my little gal's birthday party last week. They are more candid and spontaneous shots of little gal. While her dad and mum were busy entertaining other guests and relatives, she was seen busy entertaining guests too. You can see in the below picture, she was ushering her little cousin around while the cousin's mum queueing up for food!

With her younger cousin

Both couldn't wait to get hold of the cake! What else, messing around with it. Lol!

The little cousin also celebrating the same birthday with my gal, i.e. on 28 April (which is today!). Both are like sisters, little gal would hold her cousin's hand and bring her around. Only 1 year age gap between them but they are simply adorable when together. So, the next night (Saturday) we went back to the same place, Fung Kwang next to 101 Choice Premier to celebrate her cousin's birthday. Little gal is nowhere in any of the pictures. Why? She didn't want to take pictures with the birthday girl! Funny!!

Birthday girl with older friends

2 year old cousin with her mum

This cold dish is simply delicious. Highly recommended.

Lastly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BOTH GIRLS!!

Her birthday

Friday night was my little gal's night. She was the happiest child around, very willing to take shots and smile for the camera. There was a thunderstorm that night and it did not stop till around 8pm. The guests were late (as usual, Malaysian time! Lol!), but everyone have their share of food, drinks and cake. Some shots of the night:

The birthday girl was ready to blow and cut her cake

Yummy braised pork and mussels

The cake. I asked the bakery to do a 3 years old looking Mickey Mouse, but they still make me a baby looking Mickey on the cake......

Look at the presents you would know how happy she was!!!

My little gal is turning 3 soon

An impulsive shot with my gal. I like her smile here.

My little gal is going to turn 3 next Tuesday. A year has gone and she has grown up so much while I am getting older (and hopefully a wiser mummy). *wink*

For her 3rd birthday, we would have an early celebration at her uncle’s café this evening. Since her grandfather from Kapit is here till tomorrow, we make it few days earlier. Relatives and close friends are invited to her birthday party cum buffet dinner. Aren’t our children nowadays lucky? They have birthday parties with many guests and not forgetting the pleasure of receiving presents. Not during my days where birthdays were more of a family affair. For those who was having birthday, my mum would cook 2 boiled eggs in the morning for you to eat, symbolise you are a year older. In the evening, we would gather around and have a cake from Mayflower. Remember those days we didn’t have many bakeries around. So every year, the cakes would be ordered from Mayflower. Oh, not that I am jealous of my little gal; of course as a mother, we always want the best for our children, right? I am just thinking back of my childhood memories and how nice would it be if I could turn back the clock and be a young child again! Everything then was simple and easy.

Back to the present --- I have ordered a 2kg American Chocolate cake from Taiwan Cake House, which cost RM96! I must remember to take photo of the cake. Hmm, must be a long time since I ordered a cake, I don't remember the cakes been that expensive! Lol! Flour, eggs and basic goods' prices increasing again??

Her present from me

I have made her a birthday card. Nothing exaggerating; just a simple birthday card design using glitters. And what presents I bought for her?? My little gal is a Mickey Mouse fan, so I bought her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse merchandise. Sand art and stickers. Even before her birthday, she already got her present from me and started playing with them!!

My special card for her

Check out her sand art and sticker fun here!

Pity me!

Before I proceed, I would like to thank all my friends for your well wishes and advices on my pregnancy. It is great to read the comments from experienced mommies and daddies.

Don't have much times to blog and blog hopping lately, but I really don’t know what I am busy about. Since this month where my little gal did not go to her baby sitter (by the way, she still been taken care by baby sitter on every Thursday and Friday), I don’t have much time to do anything besides doing house chore. Washing, cooking and driving around are my daily routine. It is actually more tiring than when I am working. Lol! In a more physical manner. But it is a good sign since I do not do many exercises now, so I guess I can alternate it with doing house chore.

The weather has been bloody hot lately, although we have occasional thunderstorm in the evening. But the heavy showers did not help much. I am sweating like hell. I guess partly because I am pregnant and with all those hormone changes etc, I get to be warmer. Hubby has cleaned up bedroom’s air con filter this morning. We see whether this will help to circulate the cooling air or not. And if not, then I guess it is the gas; shall get someone to refill the gas of the air con this weekend.

Besides the hot weather, I also encountered constipation. I understand that some pregnant ladies will encounter constipation? True or not? I ate lots of vegetables and fruits, but I still having some problems in passing my bowel. Sometimes nothing come out although I sat on the toilet bowl for few minutes. I felt bloated sometimes. Sigh!

Where has the cool air gone?

*panting and sweating*

Damn! I think the air conditioner in my bedroom need some gas. It isn’t breathing out strong cool air anymore. I can feel that my room is bloody warm especially during the day. I only can feel the cooling air when I am nearer to the air con but not that strong on our beds. Our beds (mine and little gal’s) are facing the air con; it is the air con on one wall and our beds are exactly leaning the wall of the opposite side.

Oh dear! Should I be getting someone to check on the air con? You know, all those “pantang” on not doing something to the bedroom during my pregnancy period, but I don’t think we can all wait till I deliver. Gosh! It is about 5 months down the road if I am to include my confinement period in to get the air con fixed.

Exercising around

Super busy today. Making myself moving here and there, in and out of the house most of the morning. Why not? It has been a good day today with no rain although the clouds are slightly dark now.

Like mentioned in my previous post, I have some stinking smell in my car due to my little gal’s leaking. So finally this morning, I took the liberty to sniff the back of my car. Lol! I looked like a dog, sniffing on the seat. Luckily no smell on the seat! Yes! The stench was from the car mats, which I took out and wash thoroughly.

And guess what? My little gal gave me another bed-wetting incident early in the morning. Sigh! I just brought back her quilt from the laundry yesterday evening and she has bed-wetting again and hit her quilt again. Am not going to spend another RM10 for her quilt!! So, this morning, I washed my car mats, double-sanitized my car, brought out her mattress and quilt to dry under the sun and changed her bed sheet.

So regardless of all the washing, I am happy that my car is no longer that smelly, otherwise my friend would have make any comment this afternoon! Lol! Yes, managed to meet up with my friend for lunch. She did not make comment on any smell, so I guess I did good job on my car! *wink*

My friend is also pregnant. She asked whether I did any exercises during my pregnany. Telling you the truth, besides doing house chore, I did not have any proper exercises at all. I don’t think there is any yoga for pregnant ladies in Kuching. I understand there is special yoga for such in USA? So, this afternoon, I was browsing around the internet searching for suitable exercises for pregnant ladies and found this website. Simple exercise programme for pregnant ladies.

A rainy Thursday

It has been raining the whole morning and yet it has not stopped! I have few agenda in my sleeve but because of rain, I have to postpone them. One: I am supposed to meet up with a friend over lunch but I am too lazy to drive out. So SMS her that I am taking a raincheck and have agreed to meet up tomorrow for lunch instead. I hate the hassle of holding umbrella, wet myself in the rain and driving in a slow jam during rainy days. So, that was the “good” reasons of ending up at home instead.

Secondly: I am supposed to do something with my car. Plan to wash it and also get rid of the urine stench in my car. It was my little gal. For the past two days, she has been wetting my car after picking her up from her school. She couldn’t hold herself that long to reach my parents’ house, so wet my car instead. Good thing that she wet on the floor of the car, not on the seat, but I guess it got into the seat as well when she sat. I only took out the car mats for washing and drying, did not thought of checking on the car seat in first place. The smell get worse today. Supposed to get hubby to get out the car seat for washing and drying but look like the sun wouldn’t be shinning bright and hot today. Now I have to spray neutraliser everytime I want to get into the car, and even put some pandan leaves and "mak chow" leaves (I don't know what it is called but that what we call in Hakka) to minimise the smell. Anyone with better solution in get rid of the smell?

My little gal has been so anti-Sun lately; heard her saying "I don't like the sun" and "Go away sun" for two evenings. The sun was indeed bright and hot for the past few days so my little gal was complaining of the glaring effect of the sun in the car. Now the sun is indeed against her! No swimming for her today and her mummy's plan has to be cancelled. Lol! So what I did in the morning with the rain pouring outside? I watched DVD. I watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine this morning. I was not a big fan of X-Men movies when it started screening in cinemas back in 2000. But the big names of Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry were a big attraction. Now this latest movie is depicting the life of Wolverine before he was officially a member of the X-Men. And men, isn’t Hugh Jackman looked so rugged and handsome in there! And with that body to die for! Lol! There was a part where he was naked and running around without a single cloth on his body. Not that x-rated, mind you but the scenes when he jumped from the waterfall and sitting naked in a barn. I bet most girls would love to see more. *wink*

And this afternoon? I have a little “project" to do. Actually I have been thinking of making a greeting card. I have been spring cleaning my shelves and notice I still have some colour cards, stickers and strings; been thinking of doing something out of them. Since little gal is at baby sitter's house, I thought of doing something to pass my afternoon, instead of sleeping it away. Lol! For who and what, you might be wondering? Shall tell you more probably in my next or next next (or next next next) post! *wink* Stay tune!

She can be annoyed with me

*Eyes rolling*

I think I should be partly blamed too. Have been too addicted to internet and blog-hopping that once a while I feel like I have neglected my little gal. She has been a good girl, giving mummy her own personal times and does things that she likes.

But as hard as I try, I will give the best for my daughter. Sometimes I just need a little nagging or scolding then I will wake up from this internet world and get back to the reality in front of me. Lol!

Like this evening, I was busy blog-hopping from one blog to another. Suddenly my gal wanted to do “big business” on her potty. So I just told her to take off her own pant and underpant and do it there. It is not that she doesn’t know how to take off her pant and sit on her potty.

Well, I got scolding from her. Guess what she said to me? “Mummy, stop playing computer and come with me. I want to ‘ng ng’ now” *laugh* One part I was annoy because been interrupted but another part of me find it amusing. My own daughter is scolding me for been ignoring her. Sigh! Of course I entertained her in the end.

Hmm, I must be too much this time. Please forgive your mummy, my little gal.

Consume less sugar and sweet

I tried to give my little gal less sugar and sweet. So far she doesn’t crave or fancy any sweets although she does ask whether she can have them once a while. When I said no to her, she would not probe the issue further, because when her mummy said no, it means no.

But one thing that she cannot take “no” for an answer, is lollipop. When ever she sees lollipops in payment counter in supermarkets, she will insist she must have one of those. She even takes one and quietly put into the shopping basket without you realizing it. If she is with her grandparents, she will sure get one lollipop when she goes shopping. She never finishes a single lollipop.

Guess what? She is an avid iced tea drinker like her dad! It runs in their family. But she only drinks tea when we eat out. I tried to tell her that having too much sugar or sweet will spoiled her teeth and make her less pretty. So every morning she will obediently follow me to the washing basin to brush her teeth before off to school and at night before going to bed. When she relunctant to go to the bathroom, I will have to remind her of the dirty teeth. *wink*

It is a boy!

As I said in my previous post, I couldn’t sleep last night. Probably too much afternoon nap? Me and little gal took our afternoon nap around 2.00pm and I woke up before 5pm while little gal has to be waken up much later in the evening. Luckily she can sleep again around 9pm last night while her mummy was very much awake!

So last night was a long night for me. Manage to doze off around 3am after I had my light morning snack (Jacob’s cream crackers and 2 mugs of hot Milo) and feeding little gal her milk. I woke up before 7am this morning, feeling tired and dizzy. But today is my appointment with gynae and I wouldn’t want to miss it. Why? Because it is the day the doctor going to scan my baby. *wink*

Baby is in the upright position, head up and legs down, placenta was moving up a bit. My blood test result was good too, with enough blood count, and sufficient HBS antibody. Everything looks normal. And doctor confirmed that I am having a boy! Yes! A boy! To affirm my suspicion, doctor even pointed and outlined the baby’s penis to me. Lol! I asked the doctor thrice on the gender as I couldn’t believe my ears and eyes so I guess she got a bit of fed up of me repeating the same questions. And even while I was at the waiting hall to pay my fees and collect vitamins afterward, the nurses were congratulating me on my baby. So I was not dreaming of everything irregardless of my slight dizziness and sleepiness.

Alright, a bit detail on my baby. He is estimated to weigh around 2.86kg at birth, now is 9th week 1 day. Expected due date on 2 September 2009. So now it is half way through my pregnancy. How time passes? Couldn’t wait till the day I hold my baby. *smile*

Tomorrow is a holiday in Sarawak. So I would like to wish all my Christian friends Happy Good Friday and Easter Sunday! Praise the Lord!

Insomnia

Dammit! I haven’t get any sleep since yesterday afternoon. I am even more frustrated that I cannot get an eye shut while the rest of the household were snoring away. Sigh!

Some more my stomach cannot stop growling around 1am and now I am eating Jacob crackers with hot Milo drink. Hopefully after this morning snack, I would be able to rest for a few hours before the morning sun rises!!

Can see my tummy?

These pictures are taken last Saturday. I was about 18 weeks 2 days then. These pictures are some of the first pictures taken on my pregnancy, particular the size of my tummy. Last time when I have my daughter, I was very diligent in taking photographs of my tummy almost once a month. So I have been procrastinate this time round. I guess that is what some mummies say about having 2nd baby. "1st baby is always the luckiest as they have been photographed more often than the next siblings etc when when he or she is in the tummy".

I get my daughter to touch, pat and talk to baby. A way to make my daugther knows of the presence of new baby in family and also not to let her out in my pregnancy. Once a while she will ask me what is baby doing, I will tell her baby is either sleeping or kicking (I feel the butterflies fluttering movement now). Hopefully she would not be jealous of her little sibling. *wink*

My sweet surrender

Finally I satisfied my desire for cold dessert. I spoiled myself with a cone of vanilla ice cream yesterday morning. Since my little gal is still not fully recover from her flu and cough, I thought I better drop by at Sunny Hill Ice Cream before picking her up from school. Yeah. Selfish mum who treated herself to ice cream and left little gal out! But it is for her own good. Lol!

RM1.50 for a small cone is great for a hot day!

Wow! It has been years since I stepped my foot on Sunny Hill and not to mention, tasting its once-famous and yummy ice cream. It does not taste that creamy anymore but nevertheless I enjoy my cone of ice cream very much. Luckily I did not drool over my ice cream, thank god. *laugh* I feel like I need another cone after I finished this one, but enough is enough. I can sense a flu and cough are coming up! Must have caught some virus from my little gal who has been sneezing and coughing for a week.

I have a sweet tooth

I have been thinking of it the whole week. And I did not do anything about it since then.

Last night I have been thinking of it more frequent and was craving for it so much that I have to pour myself a big glass of cold drink. Gosh! Even when I were at my mum’s place for dinner, I would pour myself a glass of cold red guava juice.

Is it me or is it the weather?? It is damn hot for a couple of months, not much rain pour since Chinese New Year. Luckily lately there was some rain in the evening. But I am sweating the next minute I come out from the shower. I am sweating every minute. Now I am taking bath 3 times a day. So I am craving for something cold every day.

Oh I haven’t tell you what I have been thinking of. Sorry…..it lingers in my brain and I think I am going crazy because of it. ICE CREAM! Yes. A cone of nice smooth vanilla ice cream. *salivating* I have been thinking ice cream for a week now. Even ever I passed Sunny Hill, I think of Sunny Hill’s ice cream. At home, I would think of Mc D’s or Sugarbun’s ice cream and have an urge to call home delivery, just to order my ice cream. Lol!

Cannot stop thinking of it now....sigh! Alright, enough craving for now. I think I will get myself a cone of ice cream when I pass Sunny Hill this few days!! My cleaning lady told me that I shouldn't hold back on my craving. Just go and eat it. Or my baby will be come out drooling like hell. Hmm, true or not? Thought most babies do drool?? Hmm, now it is my turn salivating, thinking of my ice cream. Lol!

Breakfast and a box of chocolate

It has been many months since we stepped into Causeway Bay Hong Kong Restaurant, Crowne Square for breakfast. We reached there around 10.30am, and saw not many cars at the parking lot. Hubby's company has an exhibition booth there so thought of dropping by after breakfast. When we reached Causeway Bay, wow! We were very surprised that the restaurant was nearly packed. Hmm, wonder where all those folks parked their cars because the parking lots were not even quarterly fulled!

Nevertheless, we found a good spot and ordered our food. There were not many places serve nice tim sum in the city, but Causeway Bay sure does have a variety of tim sum to choose from. Taste-wise, so-so lah. We just love the environment.

I have a plate of chicken chop burger. Hubby had chicken porridge. We also ordered few plates of tim sum like har kau and mini sio pau.

Believe it or not, we finished everything. Lol! We must be hungry. So after the breakfast we went to the exhibition hall which is at the upper floor of the centre. They were having a bridal show so it was not surprise to see young couples at the exhibition hall. We were even approached by a bridal house for packages, and hubby jokingly told them we already have children! *laugh* Well, maybe not the bridal package but probably a family portrait of that sort??

One interesting booth that attracted us was this Sarawak homecraft chocolate booth by LVN Chocolates. They have some chocolates for tasting. They have varieties of chocolates and customers can even custom-made the chocolate to their own design for gifts etc. We ordered a box of chocolates ourselves. RM15 for 9 pieces.

Breathing therapy

I got this interesting email forwarded from a friend today. Don't know it is true or does it work, but worth trying when you having a headache, right?? This is rather long, but happy reading. Have a wonderful weekend to all my friends and readers.

Our noses have left and right nostrils. Are these nostrils having the same function for inhaling (breathe in) and exhaling (breathe out)?

Actually it's not the same and we can feel the difference. Accordingly, the right side represents the sun and the left side represents the moon.

When having headache, try to close your right nostril and use your left nostril to do breathing for about 5 min. The headache will be gone.

Jika sakit kepala, cobalah menutup lubang hidung sebelah kanan dan bernafaslah melalui hidung sebelah kiri dan lakukan kira-kira 5 menit, sakit kepala akan sembuh.

If you feel too tired, do it the opposite way. Close your left nostril and breathe through your right nostril. After a while, you will feel refresh again.

Jika Anda merasa lelah, lakukan bolak-balik. Tutup lubang hidung sebelah kiri dan bernafaslah melalui hidung sebelah kanan. Tak lama kemudian, Anda akan merasakan segar kembali.

Because the right side belongs to heat, so it gets hot easily. The left side gets cold easily.

Sebab lubang hidung sebelah kanan mengeluarkan panas, sehingga gampang sekali panas, Lubang hidung sebelah kiri mengeluarkan dingin..

Women breathe mainly with their left nostril, so they get calm down easily.

Men breathe mostly with their right nostril, so they get angry easily.

When we wake up, do we notice which nostril breathes faster? Is it the left side or the right side?

If the left nostril breathes faster, you will feel very tired. Close your left nostril and use your right nostril for breathing and you will get refresh quickly.

You can teach your kids about it. The effect of breathing therapy is much better for adults.

I used to have painful headache. When consulted a doctor, he told me jokingly," You will be all right if you get married!" The doctor did not bullshit me as he had his theory and supported with testimony.

During that time, I used to have headache every night and I was not able to study. I took medicine but I was not cured.

One night as I sat down to medidate, I closed my right nostril and breathed with my left nostril. In less than a week, it seemed that my headache problem had left me! I continued doing it for about a month and since then there was no recurrence of headache in me.

This is my own experience. I used to tell others who also suffer headache to try this method as it was effective for me. It also works for those who have tried as well. This is a natural therapy, unlike taking medicines for a long time may have side effect. So, why don't you try it out?

Practice the correct ways of breathing (breathe in and breathe out) and your body will be in a very relaxing condition.

Plan for the day

Sometimes I can be so free with nothing much to do and I can just lazy around and procrastinate. Even hubby is complaining that I am becoming to be a lazy wife. Other times there is so many agenda in my head and I don't know which side to start with; not that I am complaining though. To me, have things to do means good; easy to pass time and I can move my butt around. Lol! I think I better get out from my house; no good movies to watch, house is clean, laundry done and I am bored. I need some social interaction.

A catching up and gossip with a friend would be good. Some more this friend of mine is pregnant and currently not working like me, so lots of stories to tell. *wink* Got to check whether she is free or not. I also have been thinking of visiting a hair salon soon. I want to cut my hair shorter. Now my hair is shoulder length, I can tie it up, but I am thinking to trim it shorter. The last time I have my hair cut was last August, which is about time to do so. At least by my confinement time, my hair will grow and I wouldn’t have to suffer that much, i.e. heat, sweaty hair, 1 month unwashed hair!
