Adventure at the farm

Kids started their one month long holiday last week. Hubby took a week off from work to accompany us and spend some quality time at home.

We didn't go out much. Relaxing at home other than sending the kids to their respective tuition and enrichment classes.

However on Wesak Day, we brought the kids out to enjoy some fresh air, sun and keep them away from the electronic gadgets for few hours. We spent more than 3 hours at the newly opened farm at Batu Kawa-Bau road.

Borneo Happy Farm opens its door to visitors end of last year. This farm is open from 830am to 500pm daily including public holidays. I enclose the locality map and entrance fee as follow.

Not very far from our house, it took us about 20-minutes drive to the farm.

We paid the entrance fee at the information counter. Friendly young staff were there to answer to our enquiries and each of us were given map of the farm.

Our adventure at the farm started with arowana pond. We did spotted some arowana or famously known as dragon fish in the lilies pond. Each station has automatic audio commentary system to brief us on the animals and plants.

Next, the kids' favourite station; rabbits and guinea pigs feeding area.

Young and friendly staff were there to assist the children to feed the animals.

The kids were excited to go from one station to another to collect the stamp at the back of their maps.

After the rabbits and guinea pigs, we went to the Longevity Village to see the Malaysia giant turtle. No real giant turtle but we did see small turtles in the pond.

Since no real turtles to play with, we sat and posed on  the colourful turtles in Longevity Village.

Other animals on the farm that we saw include cows and calves, goats, sheeps, ducks, chickens, and geese. They were mostly roamed freely on the farm so we had to be careful not to be in their way.

What a lovely way to spend a holiday, quality time with the family, and communing with nature - bet the kids enjoyed this awesome experience. Pity kids in the cities - like what I saw once in NZ - they probably never got to see a live chicken before and they got so excited at the supermarket, pressing the button at the eggs section just to hear the chicken crowing!!!

It is very good to expose the kids to the various animals and natural environment. Your hubby is very good to spend his annual leave at home with the family for precious bonding time.

Fun activity for the children. Not just going to enrichment classes only during the holidays.

It is good to connect the kids with nature and keep them away from the gadgets for a while, I love the greenery at the farm, so serene and calming for the soul, in Port Dickson Avillion Resort, there is also an animal farm where you can feed the animals, there are also peacocks roaming freely in the resort, so interesting

It's good to bring kids to nature and let them roam under the sun, instead of being cooped up in classrooms. Waa...they started their holiday early? Lucky for them! :D
