The paper container business

All the food operators are requested to go eco-friendly and change their styrofoam container to paper food container. Indeed safer and environmental friendly but hardly practical. Next time I have to remind myself to bring my own container when tapau lunches.

My lunch today. Indonesian ayam penyet rice from Aloha cafe. Have wanted to try it long long time and finally I did try it today. Well, so-so. Nothing to shout about. At least satisfy my curiosity. *wink*

The price tag said RM6.00 but the aunt charged me RM6.20. For the container or there is price increase? Slap me for not clarify with her. Lol!

The sambal not bad. If only they added more ulam but with such small paper container, there isnt much space for more.

Philippines has started using paper tapau boxes but the materials are much better, can even hold hot soup..

Maybe they charge $0.20 for the container?

As here if we takeaway, they charge $0.20 for the container...

Yup, best to bring own containers when tapao-ing...and bring own bag when shopping. They do this overseas...or you will have to buy their bags, nothing is free,

Yes it's better to bring your own container as this paper box can hardly hold anything esp that HUGE drumstick!

I love ayam penyet, as long as the sambal is not too spicy.

I like ayam penyet too, but yours doesn't look authentic. Usually, the chicken is very crispy & they smash it too. As long it's tasty, I guess it's ok lah :)

Yes, I agree better to bring your own container next time. Here, some shops charge up from 50cts to rm1 extra for the container.

The sambal looks ordinary. Huhu..
I like Nasi Penyet from Nasi Kuning in Kuching. Originally from Indonesia.

The one at Jalan Tun Jugah, before Petronas? I tried it once. Yes, not bad.
