Not much to desire

Last weekend I helped my SIL taking care of her shop for 2 days as she went to KL for a short break. It been a year since I handled shop on my own. Forget that it was a tough job! *wink*

Anyway I closed earlier on Saturday as wanted to buy some stuff for the kids. But before we went for our shopping, we decided to stopped for quick dinner at this Sri Pelita. Heard from Mr Suituapui that it serves nice briyani and roti canai. But our luck was not good because not much choice that evening. Maybe they do not serve briyani in evening and all curries and dishes finished up. They only have fried dishes. We were lazy to go to other place so we just settle for its fried food.

The kids had roti telur and roti susu. Not bad and I like its curry. Hubby ordered dhall but they didnt have it.

I had its nasi goreng ayam. In my mind, I thought my fried rice would be served with fried chicken but ended up like this.....

Very big portion but I wonder the cook forgot to add salt as my fried rice was rather tasteless and I ate it with some curry gravy.

On other hand, hubby's Maggi mee goreng was too salty. Lol.

I still want to try its Briyani so maybe we will come again for lunch one day.

Oh dear!!! Too bad it turned out that way for you. I usually go for lunch - you know these mamak stalls and how they cook once a day and leave that for the whole day - I would not want to go and eat evening time for dinner if I can help it.

The Indian boss there? Next time i drop by, I will tell him. Hopefully, things will be better the next time you drop by.

Never tried the canai here because at Twin Star, coffee shop on the left hand side of Paramount (Pelita is on the right)at the back - the canai is the best in town!!! The dhall dip is soooo thick, so good!!!!

Btw, my fried rice also no salt one. May be salty as I add ikan bilis but no salt - this is because I use a lot of ingredients and I do not want to drown out the fragrant flavours with salt and msg. Sure people not used to it will complain...and on the other hand, when I eat out, I would complain...especially about them adding too much msg...and the dish lacking in flavours, mine's nicer. Hehehehehehe!!!!!

Oyster sauce is one of my favourite when comes to vegetables cooking. :)

There's msg in oyster sauce. Hehehehehe!!!! Love it but will seldom use now, or just use a bit.

The place I took Claire was Choon Seng at Sg Merah - the roti telur is nice and they also give curry gravy, no dhall.

You want good dhall - Twin Star...and the roti canai stall at Bandong (by the roadside), the dhall is not bad too. Other places so diluted, so watery, no kacang dhall taste...not nice at all.

Another block besides Sen-Q. Quite famous. Their Nasi Briyani and Ayam Tandoori are the best!

Then it must be the one I had my breakfast before. Tried its roti canai only. Hope to try the briyani out when going back Kuching.
