The wait

It was a long wait for hubby to reach home yesterday. He started his car before 1pm from Sibu and along the way, it was a very heavy downpour. Hubby has to drive carefully and slowly under the poor condition. By 6pm I were super anxious as he did not call or pick up my calls. Some more my dad, sis, mil and sil called and messaged me and asked about his whereabouts. By then I were pretty anxious and could not stopped pacing around.

My kids kept asking me why daddy is so late, why I don't try calling etc.  The kids also sensed my anxiety. All I could say to them was to pray and wait.

Only when he finally open the house gate, did I breathe a sigh of relief and sent a thank you prayer that he reached home safely. It was slightly passed 8pm last night.

He moved few boxes and luggages from the car and up to now, the living room is full of his stuff! Would take some times to clear and arange his belongings.

He also brought some souvenirs home from Bario as he was on a short getaway a week earlier.

Lovely handmade baskets and Bario rice

One of the rice he brought from Bario and Dayak brinjals and limau he bought along the way

This morning, I sent some stuff over to my mum as we would not be able to finish them off by ourselves. So I had breakfast with my mum in King's Centre in one of the coffee shops.

Looking for something simple so mum suggested this mackerel fish balls stall. I forgot the name of the coffee shop but it is on the left hand side of Unaco supermarket. Not Master Snookerium food court but across it. Mum said the fish ball noodles sold in Master Snookerium was not good and fresh.

Luckily I did not wait that long for my breakfast as I were famished by then. Had early dinner the night before. I love fishes so it was a hearty breakfast for me. So many goodness in that RM6.50 bowl of soup. Fish maw, fish balls, fish cakes, seaweed and vegetables. All my favourites. And goes with a bowl of kolo mee, I am still full from it till now!

I would definitely come back for it again. It has RM5.50 serving too but only fish balls, fish cake, seaweed and vegetables.

7 to 8 hours Sibu to Kuching, normal lah...for people who do not drive like there is no tomorrow. Otherwise, around 6 hours. When I went by road from Kuching to Sibu, I smsed every now and then - Serian...Sri Aman...Betong...Sarikei...so missus at home would not be worried - still alive!

Wahhhh!!!! That bowl of fish ball soup looks so good. Now, I feel like going for some...maybe tomorrow. LOL!!!

The ones waiting at home is always filled with anxiety when our loved ones are late coming home but the minute we know they are back home safely, its like a huge rock lifted off our shoulder. So happy to know your family are now together once again.

I'd be worried too.

Have heard so much of Bario rice. That's a good haul of goodies your hubby brought home.

So glad that things are turning out beautifully for you and the family - all together under one roof.
