Weekend eating out

I have been eating out a bit too much lately. I did not cooked much over the long weekend.

Last week was a tiring one. Started on Monday night when Jamie was suddenly vomitting and complaining of tummy ache. Must be infected from hubby who had diarrhoea on Sunday. So both of us (Jamie and I) basically did not slept well on Monday and Tuesday nights. And Jamie lost his appetite and he lost few kgs too. Could feel it when I carrying him.

Anyway, happy that he was back to his old self when the weekend was here.  The ordeal was behind us.

And hubby was away as he was flying to Penang on Friday and back on Sunday morning to attend a cousin's funeral.

I brought the kids out for meals myself. It could be handful to bring kids out by myself but we did have a good time together. After many days of eating at home, we yearned for outside food on weekend than my boring cooking. Lol.

So here were some random food that we ate over the long weekend.

It has been long since I bought something from Skycafe, Green Heights. Tasted something new from the cafe besides nasi lemak; namely Blueberry danish and Choc Chip coffee muffins.

Mee Jawa from House Cafe RM6 was quite good. They were pretty generous with the cucur and beef slices too.

Dim sum with my kids could be hard as they could be picky. But what to do when I were craving for a dim sum breakfast??

I have to admit that I am addicted to Taka Bakery's First Love at the moment. This super cheese cream bun was addictive. And huge too.

On Saturday evening, we had a take-away meal from Sugarbun. 2 pieces broasted chickens with raisin rice was my kids' favourite.

Kuching Food Kartel has an interesting charcoal burger. I tasted its grilled chicken and I thought it was alright. Not that awesome but delectable.

Went to Nanyang Food Court (opposite Emart Batu Kawa) for a quick dinner. Hubby ordered this meat-stuffed kompia from the Foochow stall. Lighting was bad as we seated under the lamp post.

A box of Tambun biscuits from Penang when hubby travelled back from the Pearl of the Orient. Our tea break over the weekend. I were surprised my boys loved it.

Home cooked food is the best, outside food is unhygienic, oily and too much MSG and salt, but sometimes we got no choice

I am opposite to you, I am sick of outside food so I long for home cooked food haha

Mee jawa with cucur? Looks like Rojak Kassim or what we call in Sibu, Indian rojak. He's in Kuching now - somewhere in between Thomson Corner and that hotel, Regal Court or something. Since he left town to move to Kuching (and later remarried), we have none here that is as good.

Quite nice what you had outside. Once in awhile it is nice to eat other people's cooking :D

With kids, weekends is the only time we took outside food... normal days with schooling and tuition, it is homecooked simple food... so that they don't feel "muak" of the home dishes.. but now they are grown up, they always yearn for homecooked dishes... hahahaa..

I love mee jawa. The thick gravy in your pic is driving me nuts. I keep saying I want to visit Kuching but I don't know where to begin with sightseeing. There's so many places to check out.
