This is nicer

Went for a brunch with my kids at Jalan Kpg Datu.  Want to have something different as I am bored on the food in Rejang Park. And I have been craving for Malay food for so long, so I only can think of one place to have a nice Malay food.  Been to couple of places but I find this cafe food suits my tastebud more. This Aji Cafe (opposite Zurich) has nice roti canai.  I had roti telur the other day so this time I wanted to eat nasi lemak. The nasi lemak sambal is nice.  RM4.50 is a bit expensive for a plate of nasi lemak as the condiment is little, but just nice for a light breakfast.  Do not expect much of this.

My kids had the roti telur each.  They like the roti telur here because it is crispy and tasty.  RM2.00 per plate.  And want to know how they eat their roti telur?
For my boy, I will break the roti down to smaller pieces and let it cool down as it was rather hot; just out from the hot plate!  And then he will nibble the pieces one by one.  As for my girl, she will start from the middle part and then go all the way to the side.

As for me, I will start from a corner.  So, how do you eat your roti???

Roti telur? Is it the same as prata? Looks similar. My son loves roti prata.

I break up my roti telur as I eat it, one piece at a time from one side. Speaking of which I think it has been more than one month since I have eaten roti telur.

Choon Seng, Sg Merah has nice roti telur. Never been to Aji. Try Sri Pelita, right of Paramount but maybe, he's closed for the holidays. Was not open that day when I drove past.

Best canai is at the coffee shop at the back, end of the block left of Paramount Hotel. The dhall dip is sooooo good!

I would break the roti into pieces, just like we did it for kids. Coz it's hot! I miss going back to Sibu...

Hello Rose,
Sometimes I crave for Malay food especially when I feel like eating gravy food or fatty food. But it's hard to find good ones in Kuching. So, I always go to Bombay Masala or Boulevard, cook by Indians.

Malay food is always a bit expensive. Maybe because of the ingredients used. The roti telur is also Rm2.00 in Kuching. I wish it remains RM1.50. Huhu!
