Miscellaneous Picture #97 : from them

My brother and sister once in a while sent food photos of what they had at home. We have a family group chat so everyone share information, daily stuff etc.

I could only look and admire my mum's and her mil's cooking through the photos. I miss my mum's cooking very much. My sis' mil is a good cook and my sis learns a lot from her.

From my sis' house:

Heng Hua pa mee

Fried rice cake

Laksa cum tom yum mee hoon

Homemade dry sambal

Pearl gum dessert

Turnip cake

Food photos sent by my bro showcasing my mum's very homey Hakka food.

Lo ark (braised duck) and egg

Steamed mui choy with pork belly

  1. What a lovely family you have to share good photos together.

The Laksa cum Tom Yum is new to me. I am just wondering how it tastes.

Most of the food are new to me as it is Heng Hua and Hakka styles. Nice!

  2. All the dishes look so tasty with lots of ingredients. The Laksa cum tom yum mee hoon looks like those sold outside. Legit! So yummy!

  3. Oooooo...mui choy pork belly! I like!!!

You must go and learn to cook everything from your mum and also your sis. So sad that eventually all these culinary skills would be lost for good. I regret not really learning from my mum - mine is all half past six one...from helping her (forced to) in the kitchen, not really all that keen on learning how to cook.

  6. That's fun that you shared why you each got. Why not make your mum's good in your own kitchen?

  9. My mom also keep sharing what she cooked and baked in Kuching. Turnip cake, pumpkin bun, this and that..making my saliva is drooling. My brothers are lucky for keep having my mom's homecook meals. More than 2 months didn't have fast food and outside meals.
