We dropped by this restaurant for a Sunday dinner since we were lazy to drive too far from our home. Although this restaurant is just a minute drive away, we seldom come here. It is not the food there is not nice but it just slipped our mind to come here. Too many cafes and restaurants that we could go to.
So, after the rain has stopped, we came here for dinner. The weather was cooling so we seated outside the restaurant to enjoy the breeze. The place was not full or you could said, it was almost deserted!! Usually you would get to see few tables occupied but not on the night we were here. Or maybe everyone gone to Kuching Fest??
Our food came without long wait. First dish was this stir fried midin with Chinese red wine. Love the crunchy vegetable and the wine was not too strong; taste was just right for the kids.
We also had this fu rong omelette. Many ingredients in the omelette such as sliced carrots, chillies, onions and prawns but I thought it was rather wet. Probably the omelette was too thick in the centre.
This was hubby's order. Salted fish pork belly. Quite nice but I did not fancy the fatty part. They sliced the pork belly rather thickly so some bites could be tough. And too fat for me!!
We waited quite some times for our last dish. Sweet & sour deep fried pomfret. Fortunately it was not a disappointment as the fish was crispy on the skin yet the flesh was tender and moist. The sauce was good too.
Overall, our dinner was satisfying. What else could we asked for?? Plus 5 glasses of drink, our dinner was just over RM90.
Mmmmm...I love omelets! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love that sweet and sour pomfret too...but it is usually very expensive outside. I'd go for your hubby's salted fish and pork instead. Nice too!
ReplyDeletehahahaha....similar with us....near punya seldom go
ReplyDeleteI like the midin dish. So green andfresh!
ReplyDeleteMidin are quite expensive nowadays... 😔
ReplyDeleteAll dishes I like but as you have said, I don't like too much fat. I prefer the leaner pork belly. I have not tasted Midin with red wine. I must go and experiment with it.
ReplyDeleteMy boys will like that fatty pork belly. I prefer the leaner parts though :)
ReplyDeleteomelets is always my favourite...
ReplyDeletewe always have omelets but plain one. Me too doesn't like fatty and oily food, the fish must be the most expensive dish.
