Miscellaneous Picture #12: The mighty green

We drove to Kuching on Christmas day last year.  An interesting road trip as we stopped by at the bottom of Hosanna hill along the way for the first time.  It took us almost 6 hours to reach Kuching although we encountered rain on and off.  The kids were pretty co-operative and my young chatterboxes enjoyed the little "guessing game" along the way.  *wink*

The Pan Borneo Highway is better compared to our very first road trip to Sibu.  Wider road and better road signs!

And we stayed in Kuching for a week and drove back to Sibu on New Year!  So we spent most of our Christmas and New Year on roads!!!

Kuching was very cold and wet during our 1-week stay and only on 1 January morning that we were able to see some sunshine.  Sigh! But the weather in Kuching is always gloomy at this time leading to CNY.

It was more tiring and stress driving back on 1 January because of the heavy downpour especially after passing Serian town because it started to rain then.  We spent almost 8 hours driving back but along the way we made a divertion to a town and that already took up 1 hour of the time.  Shall post about this town in the next post.

Although it rained, we still able to enjoy the nice foggy views of our nature then.  Indeed Sarawak is blessed with greenery as we have vast rainforest, hills and mountains.  The inner part of Sarawak is very hilly and it seperated us from our neighbouring country in the South.

The hill in Serian - is this where the Limestone Ridge's cave is???

Another nice green mountain; this taken in Lachau

This one is taken in Pantu

Sri Aman town with a big arch welcoming everyone to the division.

We did not go to Sri Aman town which is straight up.  Turn right to Sibu

Along the way we would see the beautiful ranges that stretching on both side of the highway.  Hubby kept telling us that just over the other side of the range is our neighbour.  *wink*

This is taken on one of the steepest highway on top of the mountain (about 43km from Sri Aman town).  Nice or not?  My photos do not do justice to the beautiful ranges and mountains because they are simply beautiful with those white clouds that linger low that day due to rain.

Going down the mountain!!!  Pretty steep right?  Some more it rained, so the road was pretty slippery!

Beautiful ranges!!  If I am not mistaken, it is Tama Abu range which link to Crocker range in Sabah.

Hope you guys enjoy the views!  Because I did!  :)

  7. Yes, I love the green views and the misty feel in your photos. Thank you for sharing them. Must be tiring for your husband to drive the whole journey. I have a friend who is from Sri Aman. Looks like a big town.
