Hubby has a friend from Kapit who has been living in KL for more than 20 years. He was his primary and secondary school classmate, so they have been friends for almost 40 years. He met us on Sunday (11 December); picked us up from our apartment and drove us to Sri Petaling for a dim sum treat.
He chosen this well known dim sum place. Ba Hao Dim Sum Restaurant. One of his favourite restaurant for dim sum.
The place was rather full inside and outside but we managed to get a table for 6 of us in the restaurant.
The restaurant was pretty clean, and brightly lighted. Service was quite fast amidst the crowds.
Our friend recommended what to have, what is good. Hubby and him did the ordering while the rest of us waited patiently for our breakfast.
A bowl of plain dry noodle for the boys to share. Hubby and I shared this century egg and pork congee.
This is called Ba Hao three platter. Of course you know the egg tart went to whom...My girl!! The other was polo bun and pork bun (char siew bao).
To me, this wok fried radish cake worth trying. It had that salted egg to it, so it was salty yet flavourful. Really addictive to me.
The stuffed eggplant with fish paste was nice as well.
HK hawker style chee cheong fun was something new to me, never tasted such in dim sum restaurant. Caramel like sweet sauce with generous sesame seeds on top of the ccf.
Steamed beancurd rolls were alright; we had that before.
The steamed chicken feet - tasted okay, didn't sweep my feet away! Lol.
But Jamie seemed to enjoy the lo mai kai. I had a bite of the glutinous rice, it was good. No wonder he liked it.
Other steamers that we ordered was siu Mai and pork buns. Can't left out these two when having dim sum, right??
And other steamers included steamed Malay egg cake, steamed scallop and prawn dumplings, prawn dumplings (har kao) and salted egg yolk custard buns.
Yes, we did have a lot to digest in one sitting but we did finished most of it. Super full after that. Thanks to our friend for the treat.
After dropped us at our apartment, we took shower and rest and then left to visit Lalaport mall. We used train to go to Bintang Walk as Jamie wanted to buy a Lego set in a Lego flagship shop in Pavillion Bukit Bintang. Our 2nd visit to Bintang Walk, but in the rain again. At least he got his Lego set before we walked back to our apartment.
Sri Petaling? I think my friend, Annie, in KL took us to a dim sum place there too...but it was at a coffee shop kind of place, not some classy restaurant like this one. The dim sum was very good though...and very popular, so crowded! No problem going for good dim sum in KL...not like here in Sibu!
ReplyDeleteAll the dim sum items look pretty good to me! Except the chicken feet hah..hah..hah...
ReplyDeleteI miss good diumsum! Lucky you having so many choices to select and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI have ordered Foodpanda delivery from this Ba Hao Dim Sum Sri Petaling in Oct 2021. I like their glutinous rice dumplings! Very tasty! No wonder they are full. Jamie must be so happy to get his Lego set. Which Lego set did he choose?
ReplyDeleteStar Wars. Not what he wanted but still, it is from Star Wars series.
