Fun in the sun

Maybe I should re-name this post title. Instead of "Fun in the sun", it should be "Not so fun in the sun"!

What so fun to be under the scorching hot sun?? Sweaty and all those walking and exercises tired me out. Some more I have to drag myself up from my comfy bed on a Saturday morning when my alarm was off! But I guess when everyone is together and have something done as a family, it is literally fun.

We woke up before the sun was up last Saturday to attend a sports day in Kuching Amphitheatre organised by hubby's company in conjuction with the 1st ever National Sports Day. And no, it was not the red shirt gathering albeit the red shirts.

We reached there around 630am and most participants were there. Some drove from Serian and Sri Aman to attend this event. Hubby was one of the committee members so we got VIP car parking and no need to walk so far to the amphitheatre.

Sleepy faces

At first, the kids were rather grumpy. Why not? Woke up so early on a weekend. But once we were there, everyone were pretty hyped to find out what the day has in store for us!

We were all in red!

Cameras snapping and mingle around before the 1st event started at 7am.

Aerobic!! That was fun! Ages since I did an aerobic session.

Next was a little performance by the football youth club, which funded by hubby's company.

Then the real exercise started. Fun run! You can walk, jog and/or run at your own pace and that was why it was called a fun run!

Of course, kids and I did not participate. We waited and entertained ourselves at the venue while the group were running the 3.2km stretch. Less than 30 minutes all the participants done with the fun run.

Played with red balloons

An apple a day

The happiest part?? Besides the lucky draw, we got refreshment to fill up our hungry tummies!!

The side of the exclusive Sarawak Club

We also enjoyed the beautiful view amidst the heat. It was rather foggy that morning! Look at the gloomy and greyish sky.

Everyone went home drop dead tired and we had an epic afternoon nap!!

  1. We usually get up late if there is no school on Saturdays. Your kids are very discipline not like those running about non stop. It is always nice to join in the spouse's company activities unlike many which do not invite spouse and children to join in.
