A quick food hunting

We went to the Borneo Cultural Festival 2014' s food fair yesterday. Thank god for the afternoon rain so it was not so hot. And we were there very early so we could find parking and less crowd! 


We only went to the Chinese food stall. Did not visit the Malay and other stalls. Check out some food pictures I took!!

So-called Kuching sio bee and other dim sum. RM1.00 each for sio bee. Tasted alright.

What was she having here? Ice cream? Cake?

It was from this stall. It was actually a pudding. How creative of them making it looks like a flower garden. We also tried out the cheesy potatoes. Good to eat when it was warm.

Take note there would not be any stage performances this evening as a mark of respect to the victims of MH17. Today is declared a National Mourning Day. God bless the souls of the victims and may they rest in peace.

    Wow, a lot of food.. I like.. I love that sio bee and ohh chien.. I think Jen is holding ice cream, hehe..

    The sio bee so expensive. The oyster omelette looks uncooked to me, I like mine to be overcooked and dry ;)

      I still prefer the crispy o-chien that we have in Kuching too.

    Wow.. the flower pot i thought it is ice cream, like the one selling in Kuching Festival.

    Oh dear, my comment went missing. I think I did not click publish after signing in. Tsk! Tsk!

    I was saying that there have been complaints on Facebook about the Borneo Cultural Festival - they said should call it Taiwan Cultural Festival - all the Taiwan stuff, not much of our own Borneo traditional delights. I wouldn't know how true this is. Did not bother to drop by and see.

    The potted plant in Kuching is a crowd puller at the Kuching Fest - have to queue, RM5 each. They say it's just ice cream buried under crushed Oreos, dunno same or not.

      I have to agreed with you. Those Chinese stalls are selling more Taiwanese street food than local Chinese food. Only few selling Foochow food.

    Wow. It's the first time seeing the potted plant desert. Looks yummy! And the omellete too.. Makes me hungry lah. hehe.

    why the sio bee RM1 each? oo so mahal. :( but the frozen soil ice cream is making its mark there as well I see.
