It is that time of the year where we could find the big Kailan stems on sales in the wet market here! I love its crunchiness when stir frying it. Usually I would just stir fried with garlic and shallots and add some salt to my kailan stem, but this weekend I used the big dried prawns that we bought from Mukah last month. Turned out great too.
RM6.00 per pack
Recipe:
1. Wash, soak and rinse the dried prawns.
2. Slice off the skin of the kailan stem. Dispose the green part and leave the white flesh. Slice the flesh thinly.
3. Heat up oil in the wok. About 4 - 5 tbsp. Once heat up, throw in minced garlic and sliced shallot. When turn fragrant, toss in dried prawns. Stir fried for about 30seconds
4. Add in the kailan stem. Fry for a minute then add some water, oyster sauce and salt to taste. Dish out!
I never try cooking veg. before, most of the time eat from outside...

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love har-mai too. Goes well with fried cabbage (in my opinion la).. But actually har-mai goes well with anything, very fragrant smell :)
Nice. Great with belacan as well and at Ruby, they fry with butter & cheese. Great too.
