I see red

I were in Vivacity mall the other day with my man. We went for a little shopping in Harvey Norman but it was way early as it was around 930am when we reached the mall.

So to kill the time, we walked around the mall. The Chinese New Year decoration was there. Nothing extravanga this year. Some Chinese words and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. And they also had a mini bazaar in one centre but we did not check the stalls up.

Somehow the festive mood this year were not high. Everyone complained of slow economy. Sigh!

  1. Ya, I also feel the festive mood not so high this year, yet in the news they report that economy is getting better, don't know is it true or just propaganda

  2. Very very busy in Sibu, lots of people, lots of cars. A lot of people have come home for the auspicious occasion, I think. Cities usually get quieter at such times of the year, all balik kampong.

  3. Opening hours of malls (and everything in general) here is quite the opposite to home.
In Australia, you can find coffee shops open at 5 am, and most other stores will be open by 8:30, or no later than 9. Everything does close at 5pm though.

  6. Everyone is complaining that the festive mood is not felt! Less crowd at the shopping complex and supermarkets.

  7. At least the shopping mall did something to décor a bit. Here in KL, there are still long queues and many people buying and buying and crowded on roads and crowded in the malls.

  8. Slow economy? I guess it's like that in the big cities. Come Chinese New Year, everyone has gone home. There are so many people here in Sibu, so very many cars - traffic jam everywhere. I really dread going out - pening my head!!!
