Short days in Sri Aman

There is always something to look forward to when you visit a small town in suburban. The serenity, slower pace, friendly folks, small talks and pleasantries. Those "small town" feel, if you get what I am trying to convey here.

Children and I spent 2 short days in Sri Aman in hubby's rented house. A little break away from the city life and the kids were happy to spend their school holiday away from home. But once a while they did complained of boredom as no tv!  Luckily we were there for a short stay or they would cry and beg to go home. *wink*

The town was rather quiet. My guess was everyone was back to their "kampung" or longhouses for the holiday.
Fort Alice

We did not do much during our short trip there since hubby was working on Monday and Tuesday and we drove back to Kuching that late afternoon. However, we were glad to have a short stop in Fort Alice.

We went up the hill to Fort Alice to view the beautiful morning sun shining over Batang Lupar river. Simply mesmerising and gorgeous.

Driving on the road for more than 3 hours, I admit that it was daunting for me and hubby at first as it was Jamie's very 1st road trip.  Thankfully he has his sister and brother so the long hours in the car were replaced with chats, laughter and fun.

By the way, I do love the long drive on the winding roads overlooking the lust green mountains and hills. I am blessed that we have such beautiful landscape in this part of the world.

Ok, time to log off, guys.  Need to go Gawai visiting soon.  *wink*

  2. Beautiful, that last pic. Did you go to see the "benak"? Some days bigger than other days, depending on your luck. Interesting phenomenon.
