The golden arch

They said you could find the best Sarawak laksa here. Golden Arch Cafe, 3rd Miles Kuching.

I were craving for laksa this morning so I "pujuk" (persuade) my hubby to bring me here for laksa. It has been ages since I stepped to this old shop and had its laksa. Could not remember how it tasted like. Lol.

The place is still the same. Not much changes except there is a new dim sum stall called Xin Kung Fu. We ordered 2 steamers to try since Jamie would not be able to eat laksa.

Siu mai and small paus that cost RM10.20 in total. Nothing come cheap now. Lol.

Now, here come our special bowl of laksa!! I know they said it is good but some how, I thought it was just okay this morning. Nothing to shout about. Not that spicy and fragrant enough for me. Hmm. Or maybe my expectation is too high?? ^^

RM6.00 for special with 3 big prawns

Some said the laksa at another cafe (behind Golden Arch Cafe) is as good as here. We did smell the fragrant laksa paste when we walked over. Told hubby it smell nicer than this Golden Arch. Maybe we will try it some day.

  2. I love laksa too. If I hear of any place serving good laksa, I will also pujuk my hubby to go with me or else I will get my friends to go with me.

  3. Went a long time ago - I would not say it was my favourite but some people prefer this one as according to them, it is more lemak - more santan and for that reason, many are not so fond of it - more like curry mee in the end, they say.

Wow!!! RM10.20 for 2 baskets of dim sum? Here, a bit more...for 3, used to be RM10 only a long time ago.

  7. Sometimes the food is just not the same as what one remembered. I often say, eat once, very, very nice, 2nd time, still nice, 3rd time sure will not be as nice as the 1st round.
